OS4.0... yes!
OS4.0 for Classic... yes!
OS4.1u1... yes!
MAP info... yes (and it was fun)!

Why so much hatred towards Hyperion? I know that some blue people think it was OS4 that cut off success of MOS, but it is not truth.

It's Leo, what did you expect...

Actually it's not. More then one Amiga peopile have gone down south for a while, including one of the MorphOS developers and the guy who wrote AmigaOS in the first place: Carl Sassenrath

To put you out of your misery and I hope Trevor D. forgives me for this indiscretion, but he is actually on a expedition to Antartica since a few weeks by boat.

A post saying "off on holiday - no contact will be made for x weeks" would be better for the reputation of the company. Its funny how even a holiday has to be a cloak and dagger affair.

Not 'Holiday', 'Expedition'.

I suppose you think the new CPU chips grow on trees?

So he must actually be doing research on some new Cooling technology in Antarctica to boost CPU speeds to a new level.

@A1200

as said before, the only unprofessional thing is not to update homepage...
Trevor D. stated somewhere here on the forum, that it was just a sort of saying what is next... it was not aimed to other people than us, the goal was not a proper PR campaign (thats what I understood, at least...).

I also think that it is not unusual, that Trevor D. is on a expedition... considering he lives partwise in New Zealand, Antartica is just next door, and a lot of expeditions leave from Christchurch, Invercargill or Dunedin in NZ to Antartica. If you also take in account, that he is an geologiest and into "drilling support business" (Hope this describes reasonable understandable what he is doing) you shouldn't worry to much. He does other business down there, and Amiga is just a side job.

I personally guess they underestimated the effects of their campaign. It did not even impress insiders, but also where mentioned outside of Amiga Community.

So yes, there have to be second shot soon, to keep the thing going and pushing it into the big media (should be mentioned in the big computer mags...)

greetings gerograph

You're right, thats my biggest pet peeve when a site isn't updated. First time I stumbled across Software hut, I was like "they have all this stuff OMG!!" the giveaway was the last update in '05 when i found it in '07. The owner of softhut, being the only major US based Amiga distributor, has a huge market to target, but soo many customers must be put off because the site is such a mess

Hatred ? He said Hyperion always delivered, just like they were gods, etc...

I just showed him, much like anyone in the Amiga community, they did not. There's no such thing as hatred.

You're free to like/follow them, but don't tell they always delivered when they did not...

And I'm no blue people either: I could say a lot about MorphOS as well.. but it would be off topic. Since we're talking about AEon/Hyperion, why bringing MorphOS here ?

The fact that I do not blindy follow either "camp" doesn't mean I'm part of the other one. It's funny how people get rejected if they ever dare admitting some (negative) truth.

This was in full collaboration with Hyperion and there should be a joint announcement of the project from A-Eon and Hyperion within the next few days and we'll get a simple website up at the A-Eon address to replace the puzzle pages in time for that

Now, I've posted weekly about this. There's still no joint statement, nor a website, five weeks later. I see you're surprised about this here.

I posted a bigger post two weeks ago, here, obviously I was wrong about a few things.

Last week it went so far that Mr. Hermans wanted to put me out of my misery (link) which is quite harsh.

What's happening with this? A joint statement can't be that difficult, I mean the least common denominator is Ben Hermans, right?

So you want other people to act professional, by not acting like that yourself?

Interesting strategy to say at least.

I guess that's one way of seeing it.

The other is that virtually everyone knows the connection between the name and the alias so why quibble?

And why shoot the messenger?

The lack of any type of positioning statement is just silly. None of this would have arisen if someone had simply spent 15 minutes to slap together a landing page for a website. That's not criticism or nitpicking, it's common sense.

To be honest, I got tired of all the games (not the riddle game, that was brilliant). That's pretty much it. For once, can we have someone that says, and then does. And why is communication within a small community like this one this poor? You know it's bad when you don't send that inquiry by mail, because you fear what answers you'll get. If you get an answer at all, that is.

So what am I trying to achieve? I guess it was my turn to point at the bad parts and tell someone this needs fixing...

I can't see anything harsh in that post. Calm down. Get a beer, go outside, whatever. Come back, when there's really something to talk and/or argue about.

because of people getting a bit weird and crazy, like in this thread, they should have just said nothing untill the day before releasing the next whatever.

im getting tired of all this moaning myself.

@cha05e90

I was outside today, went for a little walk with the wife. It was a beautiful day, lots of snow, the sun shone and I had coffee and a cookie with it.
