Yeah your logic holds, but the Amiga scene has required people to buy hardware in advance of OS4.x being developed for that said hardware! In the case of PPC Classic hardware that required a purchase 9 years in advance of being able to use OS4.0 Classic on it!! Initial AmigaOne owners had to run Linux rather than OS 4.x - it was a farce and in reality only die hard Amigans with lots of money, patience and blind optimism got to use OS4.x until the release of ACubes Sam boards, where it simply became an expensive hobby rather than an insane one!

My view, as TrevorDick is geologist:
Quote:
Well hope I got that right, makes sense at least. In German Aeon is written "Äon" and it is (geolocial seen) the biggest division of "earthages". Smallest would be for example "devonian" which lastet about 55 Mill years, if I remember right. Stick some more of those smaller devision together you get about 2000 Mill years in one Eon.... So more or less we are not talking of an new beginning of an Ice Age, we are not talking about the beginning of a new calendarium... we are actually talking about a hardly never ending time span... (beyond beyond computing).

TrevorDicks view:
Quote:
Anyway, when we tying to come up with a name for the new company we chose AEON because it was an anagram of A-ONE. Sad I know, but as I used to be a geologist there was certain symmetry to the choice.

This "remove this form forum" sounds almost like "take off your shoes before boarding a plane, and throw your liquids away". It's security that does not secure anything.

Right, say you take a trip with a charter holiday plane, order some tax free highly flammable liquor, receive it in the plane. 40% and above alcohol makes a real nice Molotov Coctail.

The only thing you need to bring into the plane through security, is something to light it with.

Well, I did not post the info, I even removed it now, since as Hans wrote, we are infested by search-bots here in forums.

This was public company information.
Make it a company phone number, and company e-mail, if you don't want to use your private ones.

My problem with the reasoning is the following:
The initial posting in this thread with the info was January 7 yet...
xcore posted the same information on January 5.
source

Surely, they would know what an associate was doing, and informed them by now if they hadn't wished the contact info to be made public, no?

I find it a bit strange to restrict public information that is available from, what, 50 similar sites, not even counting search engines? And if you think it got picked up by google after it was posted here, you're dead wrong. It was most likely up on search engines.. a few minutes after the information got public.

If the information is public, and the person who's information is out there feels that is wrong, that person should fix that by going to his registrar and have it altered. Why filter it here, this is just a leaf. Fix it at the root for a proper solution. This is somewhat akin to putting up a sign to block the view to a field, but you'd just have to take a few steps in almost any direction in order to circumvent the block.

My personal idea is that Hyperion wanted to keep the promisses to publish news about MAP by the end of the year and it was done in an interesting and amusing manner.

You got it spot on.We put out the puzzle pages for you guys because we knew the community was expecting to hear something around now and we wanted to give you something fun. This was in full collaboration with Hyperion and there should be a joint announcement of the project from A-Eon and Hyperion within the next few days and we'll get a simple website up at the A-Eon address to replace the puzzle pages in time for that, but you'll have to wait until closer to release date for a formal announcement of the X1000 with all the specs, case photos, etc.

Don't create a simple web page. Make it something attractive, I found this kebap shop which have a really nice web page. If someone who sells kebabs have a page like this, we should have an attractive web page as well.

I liked the puzzle, it has been a funny way to introduce the new Amiga...
And a good communication strategy!

But for the future, since Hyperion/A-eon is trying to be a computer maker, please put a lot of care and effort in your websites (Hyperion and A-eon)... they are the first place where people go searching info about the system, and a professional site is essential...

Looking at Hyperion website, if you don't know, it's quite difficult to understand that it's the site of an OS maker...
It's something understandabe only to people who already know quite well OS4...

Take inspiration from Apple...
