OK. I got the file eventually after one whole hour watching it download but now cannot unpack the ISO from the lha archive.

I get the message

"Error while unpacking A1InstallCD-Upd1.lha filetype is unknown".
That is with Unarc, Dopus just shows and does nothing when I try to extract.

Anyone have any ideas what to do with this file or is it corrupted.

I really do NOT want to spend another whole HOUR waiting for a huge download that then may still not unpack.

@BillE

If you have downloaded it with IBrowse, there seems to be some extra junk at the start of the file Quote:
Warning: We discourage the use of IBrowse or AWeb for product registration

While when downloading with OWB seems the file is okay as normal lha.
So try downloading it with OWB.

OK, I just downloaded the update at work. (Such a bad, bad employee I am!) I wouldn't have tried except for Metalheart's "It's up again" thread. I wasn't planning to read messages here, only glance at the titles.

It took about 20 minutes to DL from my place of work.

I hope hope hope that everything is OK with the archive I got and that I can get it from my USB stick onto my Sam without issue.

I can't wait to get this update running!

@all

For those downloading it in IBrowse.

rx "open(file,'sam440installcd-upd1.lha3','r');seek(file,113);call open(file2,'blah.lha','w');do until eof(file);writech(file2,readch(file,65535));end;close(file)"

change filenames to suit.

If "113" isn't right for you, try

rx "open(file,'sam440installcd-upd1.lha3','r');heh=readch(file,113);say heh;close(file)"

Increase number, you want it to end at ">"

So why would OWB work if IB doesn't. Surely the files are the same whatever application you download them with ?

I really don't like OWB much it is so uninformative and tends to lock up an awful lot.

I may try tomorrow I have already wated over two hours tonight downloading files that don't work, and that is just the time taken to download not the time in between trying to find out why the file that took forever to get doesn't work.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

You have just saved me another hour download.

The big question is WHY was all that crap added in the first place.

It seems to have worked, well I at least have an ISO file now. Lets just hope that isn't corrupted too.
