Wow, Me and my big mouth. I posted elsewhere that I would make a donation towards the second Loaner system when we reached the target for the first! DOH!

Anyway, many thanks for all your donations! They all count.

One down and one to go!

Just like to know.. Why would any developer just do a porting job because
of a loaned system? That's like doing something for free?!?
Or am I missing something here? If the developers got to keep the systems
I guess they would get something atleast.

There are many reasons I suppose but here's just a few:-

they can take advantage of other bounties that might be available
their own system is being repaired
they just want to

Oh and BTW 191 euro to go for the second Sam loaner system! Woohoo!!

Thanks to all who have donated!

@Samwel

Perhaps the software developer would do the coding as an experiment to see if he liked the system,liked working with the code,wanted the fame and undying gratitude of Amigans,or just to prove it could be done with something not Microsoft.

I agree it would be good to get some systems permanently into proven developers hands at reduced costs;although the rest would have to accept that those talented people were getting a special deal and not everyone expect the same.

I don't know the finances of Amiga suppliers but very few are going to operate at a loss for long before closing.Everybody has bills to pay,stuff to buy .

The same motivations that are present when developers create public domain and open source software. The challenge, a sense of accomplishment, practice tuning their skills, expanding their programming skills into other areas, etc.

Just looking at AmigaBounty now. The names of donors seem to be listed. Purely out of interest, is it possible to make an anonymous donation to this or any other bounty?
