I assume you are asking why there are still 68k registers mentioned in the AmigaOS 4.x autodocs. That is mainly due to not spending the time to update the autodocs. I found they are sometimes handy for porting ancient 68k Amiga code but mostly they are totally useless._________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

I suppose that they can be replaced by PPC ones, but again if the Amiga is powered by another CPU later on (if ever) then the autodocs will have to be modified. It may be a good idea to let the Amiga community update the autodocs and RKM...or put a bounty or something to help in that area which is really important.

| @kamelito There are plans to update and release the RKRMs for AmigaOS 4.x right now. The autodocs are generated from the AmigaOS source code. If you have any specific bugs to report please feel free to email them to me. _________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

Maybe Robert could record the sound straight out of the PA system? |
Yes I think that would be best. Then you wouldn't get the room accoustics (which makes it hard to hear, even if one is present in the room), and no background noise.
Alternatively a directional microphone for the camera instead of the surround mic that is there by default._________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

In the world of audio there's something called a gate (or expander) which should be availiable as a plugin in most audio (and most video) processing software. What it does is reduce (or silence) any sound that is beneath a certain threshold.
I believe these videos could greatly benefit from beein run through one, to reduce the background noise. All that has to be done is set the threshold so it reduces the background noise while not affecting the main speaker (which is louder in volume).
Edit to add: Still, thanks for the work! (I'm not beeing unappreciative, just a tip) Last edited by steego on 17-Nov-2010 at 05:30 PM.

Already done. I've cut out all low and high frequencies in order to hear the mid-ranges more clearly. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of mid-range "noise" included with the mid-range we want to hear.

I think you did a great job. The conference space was *very* noisy. (And I think the door was open to assist with ventilation. It was warm and humid, thanks to the rain.) I agree with everyone else re: talking during presentations. Let's hope the SACC guys either put up the partitions appropriately or make some kind of announcement (edit: next year). You'd think people would know they were being rude, but they seemed mostly oblivious too it. Last edited by Trev on 17-Nov-2010 at 10:28 PM.
