the was one programmer who did release a demo of 'resident evil' but all it was,was screen caps of the game with backing sounds, was in someways cleaver but also crap as no attempt at making an actual game. Think it was a on covercd from one of the amiga magazines

By the way, does anyone have some short description about legal issues involved in this competition theme?
I mean, basically we cant start making Stargåte game without first getting permission from the copyright holders if I have understood right.
However, in practice I think they are just happy when some fan makes some fan stuff for free. |

hmmm as long it is PD software i assume it is legal to make an Stargate game.
-------- @Cammy
Would a port of Alone in the Dark -Engine fit to the competition criteria? "Free in the Dark" .... i assume not because the game files can't be included. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 03-Nov-2011 at 11:41 PM.

true, thats what I thought, via PD should be ok, thou if there was a problem, I would just be removed, If I was selling it im sure a case could come about. _________________ Cross-developer on Windows, OS3, OS4, Linux; Current Projects:- Nephele Cloud App OS4 UserProfile System OS4 AmigaOneXE OS4.1.6

| I think I will do a Zorro game. At least one level or two. It was both a TV-series and Movie and was not ported to Amiga afaik.
If someone needs code or a platform to build on feel free to use mine. http://www.xbrix.com/fighter03.lha
Im soon finished with version 0.4 but the scripting will look pretty much the same. I have not done an editor yet so you have to use a text editor. The whole project is made using codebench.
If someone is good at graphics and zorro theme feel free to contact me via PM.

| Hello everyone. Thank you to those who have taken an interest and made an effort to enter this competition, but I apologise for not having the time to arrange any prizes or promote the competition any more throughout the last month. I feel if I had have had a chance to pay more attention to the competition we could have had a few more entries.
We've decided to extend the end-date of the competition to January 31st, to give anyone who hadn't noticed it before or those who hadn't yet finished a chance to get something entered, and it's a chance for those special guys who already finished their entries to go over them and add a bit more polish if they need to. Final judging will take into account those entries that were completed by the original end-date and bonus points will be awarded. All the rules are still the same, the competition is simply being extended by a month, since this year the entries aren't necessarily Christmas-related so I don't feel too bad about doing this, and the "festive season" continues into January anyway.
I am still working on the Amiga Christmas Tree website, and am updating it every few hours so keep checking back. I haven't had a chance to scour the net for new goodies to put on the page yet, but there's a little bit there, as well as a link to the competition rules page.
Check out http://amigachristmastree.ultimateamiga.co.uk for more details and Amiga goodies as I find them. _________________ Get AmigaOS for your PC, it's FREE and comes in two flavours!

Hi Cammy, oh thats good to know. I am working on a game with Skuggan atm and well, he didn't give me much notice. A whole month is just what I need to put the final pieces in place and like you say polish it up. _________________

| Thank you to those who have made an entry for this competition. As there hasn't been much interest in this contest compared to previous years, I'm thinking of extending the competition deadline for another month. I was wondering if that would be enough time for anyone who haven't had a chance until now to join in? It'll give anyone who has already finished their game a chance to polish and finish it off too.
The theme for this current competition is this: Create an Amiga game adaption of the film, television or book franchise of your choice! The only exception is you cannot use the same franchise that has already been made into an Amiga game. If you're not sure, please check either Lemon Amiga or Hall of Light. This competition is open to ALL Amiga platforms too! Bonus points will be awarded to those who completed their games by the original end-date (December 31st).
There's more information about the competition on the Amiga Game-Making Competition Page - http://amigachristmastree.ultimateamiga.co.uk/Competition.html and don't forget to let me know which franchise you'll be basing your game on!
I know you can do it! Also please don't be afraid to try teaming up, it could only help your chances of winning. _________________ Get AmigaOS for your PC, it's FREE and comes in two flavours!

YES, please Cammy extend the dead-line to two more months so I can write my game - based on movie "Judge Dredd". I'd be very thankful. And thank you for all your hard work on organisation. Your competitions are just superb! I'm glad I can participate! |
