On the other hand if you do know something, why not share it with the rest of us?

Read through the answers given in the forum you will understand why not much is said.

However, I can say that the "Amiga" is on its way. For those who have not complied with, I can say that Commodore "promised" a retro-C64, which can run Windows, Linux, etc..
They did what they promised on time. Therefore we can assume that they are doing what they promised further alleges "Amiga".

this has been hinted at by more than one CUSA enthusiast, but, as far as i know, nothing stated publicly from either leo or barry backs that up. by bundling amiga forever with their systems they allow their customers an easy path to use OS3.x via E-UAE like many other PC users, so that could add to our community. beyond that, though, i see no evidence of anything 'unique' in their current or planned bundled OS. they currently offer two options, neither of which they support directly. to go from that situation to something totally new seems a bit out of place given their resources.

time will tell, of course.

It is to come ("it will much more," "the best is yet to come") is not just about computers. I think the most about buying / contracts / other.

Well, time will show what is right.

I have read through the forums extensively.
If the responses there are what prevents you from giving us details, why bother posting at all?

You will get much less flack if you provide details instead of stringing people along with vague promises.
Take a look at the AOS4 threads and the screams for a roadmap and better communication.
This prompted Steven Ssolie to start a blog, which I think has been quite well received.

Well being a bit critical now, no they didn't produce the full package on time.
But yes they did get there in the end.

However, this is doesnt really help us judge the next stage.
I'm told COS2 is not just going to be a Linux distro.
If that's the case, the challenge there will be a a lot greater that putting a PC in a custom case.

The perception on Amiga forums rightly or wrongly, is that CUSA supporters post just hype up the company and keep them in the public eye.
Vague promises, grandstanding, abusing the natives goes a long way to creating this perception.

If CUSA genuinely want to reach out to the Amiga community, then they need to start communicationg a lot better than they have.
That means real details of where they are going and far less showmanship.

@TiredofLife

Commodore has promised a major make public a while ago. But the other day told Leo that it takes longer than expected. It can of course look odd but I feel try and calm.

You (and others) is certainly right that the Commodore should not let "anyone" in CUSA names post here. They should designate a person responsible for communicating externally. It looks just stupid out otherwise. Bill McEwen at AmigaInc learned that lesson the hard way. After that he never posted anything in any forum.

I think the Commodore and their intentions but I do not agree with them in everything. I would prefer climbed see a collaboration with Hyperion on a port of OS4 to x86 and the Commodore will have rights to send to OS4 with their computers with the name "Amiga". For me it would have been the ultimate.

We must hope that the idiots will agree!

@linnar

If the next step is ambitious as claimed, I can fully understand and accept the delay.
I wouldnt want to stop CUSA employees/supporters posting here.
But I do think they should only say something when they have something concrete to say.

As for cooperation between CUSA, Hyperion, MorphOS and AROS, I can't see it happening anytime soon.
Although like you and others, I would be very happy to see it.

I'd settle just for friendly atmosphere between the camps.

Since he never posted -at all-, when did he learn this lesson?

Erm... I've corrected your post for you as it was wrong...

Commodore hasn't promised anything since around 1994, if you mean Commodre USA LLC or CUSA then please say so as they are not Commodore & it confuses matters when you claim Commodore have been saying things publicly recently...

Nice to see you admit they are idiots though...

@ Number6

Perhaps Bill is just trying to think of something to say in his first post...

OK!
On AW, he has not posted anything, it looks like.
He was right the first time here!

I will try to write CUSA in the future!
I hope that all the "Amiga" operators (including CUSA) can agree that more people can use the name "Amiga" and that they may be able to support each other in any way.
They seem not to agree or attempted agree. Therefore, I called them all "idiots". I do not mean that they are idiots, it's just an emotional expression that they can not agree.

I think you are wrong about Bill McEwen. He has no time to posting for he is developing OS5. Jaust now he is the "Hello World" in the tool "True Basic".
