Any past comments should still be there as I don't delete anything - unless it looks like spam. Remember each page can have its own set of comments.

Updated Jack website, new Download page.

Not got Jack yet? You can download it here... why not take part in the short survey as well?

Hello me again!

A new blog post on the Jack for AmigaOS website...

http://jackforamigaos.wordpress.com/2012/03/03/bye-bye-dependancies/

Not got Jack yet? Follow these 5 simple steps to get started:

1) Visit the Jack for AmigaOS website (hint: link above )
2) When your happy click the Download menu option.
3) Fill in the form so you start rating quality AmigaOS software available.
4) Submit the form (don't forget the annoying Captcha!).
5) Click the huge Download Link!

Still not convinced? Why not complete the form anyway! There is a short AmigaOS-software related 'survey'. Survey results are shown within the Jack App-Store for everyone to see.

Thanks for reading!

@djrikki

Another weekend is here so back into Amiga software development.

http://jackforamigaos.wordpress.com/2012/03/10/download-manager/

Early days, but started on a more comprehensive download manager rather than a progress window you cannot do much with.

Now people should quit nagging for Hoolywood development, since it assures portability. Nice way to go

Nice - looking forward to trying it! On the point you mention in your blog, Hollywood on AROS doesn't support alpha transparency yet (well, I didn't see anything in the Hollywood 5 change-log to suggest that's changed)

Hopefully we'll get graphics compositing on AROS one day and Hollywood can take advantage of that. Did Hollywood on OS 4.0 have transparency or did it only come in 4.1, I wonder?

Chris

Thanks for posting this. I am proud Icaros 1.4 had some sort of "inspiration" to you!

RE: Transparency

I have an inkling that the default Screenmode set up in AROS isn't 32 bit, so gonna try that.

EDIT: Okay the 'screen depth' in prefs goes from 0(?) to 24bit... there isn't a bit 32-bit mode, so until there is a 32bit depth the window will not be able to go transparent- but at least you will be able to enjoy the rest of the app.

If you are the seeing the 'cannot find Table field 30' error when accessing the app-store. I've already identified the cause and implemented a fix which of course will be released as soon as possible.

The problem was the sudden surge in uploads, this should remedy itself over the next few days as the recent list updates itself. I had only accounted for a max of 30 items on the recent list, seems there is no upper limit.

@mrdarek

The priority right now is to bring them up to the same level - i.e running.

@nikosidis

At the moment it is catered towards icaros desktop, but there is no reason why it shouldn't run under AspireOS. Many questions really, but how can I distinguish between Icaros and AspireOS? Another one, does ArosPDF/similar come with AspireOS and secondly what is the default (complete) filepath to it... same for MultiView and a Text Editor.

I'm pretty sure that AROSPDF is the only program that path might be different from Icaros.

Big thanks to the few who have made donations so for to expedite is development. Please also remember you can donate to your favourite developers directly from Jack on over 200 applications. Simply download your favourite application(s) (again it doesn't matter, does it really!?) and make a small donation today!
