@Tomppeli

>It looks like Wazp3D doesn't support double height screen
Wazp3D (should) support it (or perhaps your double height screen > 2048 ?)
If not it is a bug
What prog do you use and how ?

The load/save feature should appear very soon...

Thanks to all for good feedback

Wazp3D has been updated & on Aminet.

Beta 52.1
Now automatically write/read Wazp3D-Prefs settings in a local Wazp3D.cfg file
( OpenLib() call ReadPrefs() and W3D_DestroyContext() call WritePrefs() )
Note: Latest WinUAE need "Miscellaneous panel/Native code execution" to be
enabled

@Kicko

The cfg file is in SYS:Prefs, I didn't rename the prefs file, it's still named Wazp3D.prefs & the confg file is Wazp3D.cfg.

I do wonder if the prefs name should be changed or not, have to see how it goes.

@Allain

Btw, have a suggestion about config: Imho better to save everything in ENVs. Like:

ENVS: Wazp3d/wazp3d.cfg
ENVS:Wazp3d/Apps/name_of_app1.cfg
ENVS:Wazp3d/Apps/name_of_app2.cfg
ENVS:Wazp3d/Apps/name_of_app3.cfg

By this way users can operate with configs better, and all in all usage of ENVS are good way :)

You can also add button "save" to main wazp3d prefs, so it will be easy to understand if it save anything or not. Plus maybe option like "want you save wazp3d settings for the apps on exit YEs/NO" , and when yes, every app will save warp3d setting to ENVS:Wazp3d/Apps/name_of_app.cfg, and when NO, nothing changes (or changes only until reboot)

@Kicko

It looks like Wazp3D saves the config file into a directory where the calling program is.

Alain doesn't want to work any further on Wazp3D. He's fed up with it.

I think no new version will come any time soon (as for MUI-OWB or MUI-Mplayer ).

So enjoy what has already been done and don't hold your breath for any new version in the near future.

Harggg !!!! I maded an error = I Have forgotten to also update the ppc library header
to make LibOpen() call ReadPrefs() too (like the 68 k version do)

I didnt noticed it.... sorry
I just fix that now and working Wazp3D will be on Aminet tomorrow

@kas1e

Too complicated too implement for me...

Right : Certainly there wont be a new version until late summer

For the moment I will work on an other (more fun) project called Microbe3D

Switcher3D. I didn't think that limitation. I'm using a 1080 height screen so double size goes outside from the limit. But I tested it also with a smaller screen resolution and got the same results. Could you make the limit 2560 ?

Nice. Thanks.

Alain say that he fedup with it even 3 years ago to me, when i start to annoy him to add more features to make it better for winuae. But i think about 10 new versions come since then :)

@Alain
Once you will find motivation for wazp3d back again, i can help you with all that "envs" stuff with no problems.

ps. did you recieve my mail with updated list of prods ?

Yes

Too late : Wazp3D already ready for Aminet...

You can make it yourself easily just change that line:

#define MAXSCREEN 2048 /* Maximum screen size 2048x2048 */

in Wazp3d.h & soft3d_opengl.h
then do "execute build.sh"

Just a small request, as you are working for a new archive right now, can you use a different system font (a better OS4 font maybe) for the Prefs text rathen then still with the old topaz retro style ?

Should a SAM440ep-mini user try wazp3D?
I guess M9 works better via real Warp3D & miniGL?

@KimmoK

Why don't you test it yourself. Remember to use Compositing2D renderer of Wazp3D. I guess your hardware is quite slow with CPU rendering. M9 is Warp3D compatible Radeon. So it's always better, I guess.

Testing, seems blender doesn't like Compositing2D, I get a GR. I don't play GL games, so I don't have Wazp3D prefs installed, I just use default settings for now.

> seems blender doesn't like Compositing2D, I get a GR.
You should use latest Wazp3D version (52.2) as it check if bitmaps are well allocated in Compositing2D mode
Also Compositing is NOT recommended for Blender as Compositing dont have zbuffer so it will not render your objects correctly
Remenber that Renderer:Compositing2D is more a "Proof of Concept" than something very well written :-/
But soft3d_compositing.c that do Compositing is a small source (766 lines) so os4 programmers feel free to fix/enhance it
(rebuilding wazp is as simple as "execute build.sh" )

>can you use a different system font
Pehaps in next version but not soon

>what appears to be v53.1 of Wazp3D (I say "appears" as the previous version I had installed also has version string v53.1)
Wazp3D library as a Warp3D clone is builded with original Warp3D versions numbers :
4.2 for os3 68k
53.1 for os4 ppc
the real Wazp3D version appears in Wazp3D-Prefs title

>I guess M9 works better via real Warp3D & miniGL?
YES : if a program works with real Warp3D then dont use Wazp3D
See FAQ at http://thellier.free.fr/Wazp3D.htm
Alain Thellier - Wazp3D author

============================================================
FAQ:

If i got Warp3D (or QuarkTex) working is there any reason to use Wazp3D ?

With Wazp3D you can
Track/debug all the Warp3D calls
Dump textures
Change ugly textures
Dump all that is drawn as an .OBJ/.MTL text output
You are not limited with video-RAM : you can have as much textures as you got RAM
Unlike QuarkTex you can run multiple Wazp3D applications concurrently
Unlike QuarkTex you allways can use Windows

Hello

Just to say that FPSE on Wazp3d/Compositing2D (FPSE=playstation emulator)
works well too on Os4 (as it worked well for WinUAE)

It need latest gpuw3d.dll + latest FPSE for os4
Just tested it with Sam440/Compositing and this streetfighter works very well
Note: On FPSE sometime it is hard to figure out what key (x tab n return ...) can start the game
See FPSE settings here (+compositing2D of course on os4)
http://thellier.free.fr/Wazp3D.htm

Better is to
just start FPSE + select game cd file
open Wazp3D-Prefs
set settings (compositing,etc...)
then close FPSE with Esc to save wazp3d.cfg

Because if you really start the 3d part with "soft rendering" may be too slow

BTW
Tom Raider3,SoulBlade,Legacy of Kain,Gran Turismo,Parasite Eve,CrashBandicoot, Gundam ...works well too

Streetfighter vs xmen & Dragon Ball Z - Ultimate Battle 22 gots problems

OK, I found that Aquaria seems to work great on my X1000 with Wazp3D, when use the prefs Renderer=Compositing2D. And ticking Use Filtering makes it look quite a bit nicer.

But those global setting seems to get forgotten when I reboot. Is there any way to make it permanent? EDIT: NEVER MIND! It seems that I was using an old version of Wazp3D, and reading the changes in the new version, it seems they already fixed this (will check myself shortly!).
