| Would be great if some skilled developers could enhance and enrich jabberwocky. |

You use Jabberwocky 1.9b1? For some reason I was still using 1.7 today, it's much better now that I installed the beta. _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan. |

Yes, I'm using latest AOS4 beta of Jabberwocky. Unfortunately I did not manage to get IRC working with it. Even if some servers provide that transport.
Did not get your post entirely: Is it better for you to use latest beta or version 1.7? |

Cool. Need to try Jabberwocky again for the FB chat. How do I know my FB ID? Is it that FB e-mail thing I got but never use? _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

Havent used jabber for alot of years but logging in to facebook is always the email thing. So logically would be the same for facebook in jabber. |

Not if you don't use them, I have a lot of contacts on yahoo and have to use my itouch to chat, which is not nice with that awful onscreen keyboard.
You will never find me using facebook or googletalk and very rarely msn (shudder). I prefer jabber but as it no longer supports yahoo and epistula is dead and gone without a plugin ever being released I'm stuffed _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

| My only actual problem with Jabberwocky is the frequent dropouts (also with beta). And if the message is "Connection reset" it won't reconnect automatically. Pidgin has these too on debian but not nearly as much. _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan. |

Does it support multiple connections? Can use facebook, google+ and msn at the same time? If it doesnt support multiple connections then its not that interesting for me.

Yes, there are probably alot of people using other protocols but a good start would be the ones i recommended. I think its covering 80% of what people are using.

To be honest I'd rather dig out my mac mini and use yahoo's own software than use amicygnix or buy a bluetooth keyboard to use with the itouch or possibly as a last resort boot linux and use pidgin on that.
I do have amicygnix installed but since I've set up dual boot on my X there seems little point in keeping it._________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

i used to use the yahoo! messenger transport on my jabber server with jabberwocky. did yahoo! change the underlying protocol so that those transports no longer work?

| It looks like I have solved the connection problem with an ARexx script.

| Seems like Microsoft will be activating a XMPP(jabber) server around Oct2013 so we can hopefully use a limited Skype account

It looks like I was right at first. MSN service will keep working after March for some time atleast. Quote:
Messenger uses two network protocols that allow third parties applications to tap into its service. One is a proprietary Microsoft protocol named MSP, the other an open protocol called XMPP, which the company added in December of 2011. Microsoft confirmed to CNET that it will keep XMPP support alive until October of this year, while its own MSP protocol will continue to work until March 2014. |

Thanks for the clear instructions! Sadly, it did not work. I keep getting a message "incorrect password for eldee.stephens" but I typed in six '*' just like you did!
OK, that was actually a sad attempt at humor. I'll go download it and give it a go!
Logged in, but every single person is offline, or I have not yet figured it out.
Progress, all the same!
