@Kjmann

"For the record. Itix was warned to stop reporting moderators and administrators Edited or deleted posts as TOS violations. He has sent several in the past few weeks. This Alone I considered to be a form of trolling."

Moderators are not gods even if you seem to think that

I would be interested to see what these edits and deletes were, I have heared that a lot of things were done in recent time.

In your original post you wrote that you wanted to "protect the owner". Amiga.org is (or at least was) a public forum not the marketing channel of a-eon and Amigakit. Some poeple say it already is and that news of competing products were not published and similar, I thought there is some sort of misunderstanding but if I read posts from people like you that are suddenly moderator (why ever) I start to believe it. I am not sure if the owners really know what their moderators do in their name but I hope that they change it in future and remove people who are not really qualified to make responsible moderation.

@OlafS25

Don't worry, when I recover from my jet lag after travelling home on Wednesday, I will make some investigations and feedback to Itix.

AmigaKit owns a.org.

AmigaKit lets the worst possible candidates run as moderators on a.org.

S##t goes down.

Reputation run into the ground by AmigaKit and nobody else and ultimatly fully deserved as they (he?) choose the wrong moderators for what is (was?) supposed an open community forum.

For any given situation, we all draw a line in the sand, none of us would draw that line in the same place. If a mod feels someone has crossed his line, he has the right to do a temp ban & then discuss the situation with the rest of staff & make a final decision.

Kjmann has done that & was man enough to make a public statement & apology.

This proccess is no different then any judicial system in most countries, like it or not. The mods do their best to keep all of us in order & its a thankless job.

If you don't like moderation, post on moo, which by the way, has decended into total chaos becuse of it. Be as nasty as you want, but I think most of us enjoy order.

As you can see, my line is different from yours.

The mods were already in place, it takes time to change anything that may be wrong, if anything.

@sundown

Does it really matter wether certain ###### mods were assigned by Bill P or AmigaKit ?

It was widly know that a.org moderation sucked donkey ears under Bill P and AmigaKit 1st course of action should have been to clean up that mess.

By not doing so it became his mess.

Agree entirely.

Its pathetic that after the MOS vs AmigaOS4 vs AROS wars of many years ago, the same people come back here and revert back to their previous type. They may not be saying it, but it perfectly clear that people are only on here to kick the efforts of those who are trying to keep AmigaOS4.x going.

For myself, I couldn't care less anymore, I have long since come to realise, that we are all just relics from a bygone age. Computing is now either consoles, mobiles or tablets, that's where the market is. We are just dinosaurs, eventually we will die out, history will remember us a bitterly divided community, if it remembers us at all.

You may want to read the first post of this discussion thread again. Please note the word "never". This was not a "temporary ban" pending a review. This was clearly communicated as a permanent ban for actions the moderator in question assumed may happen at some point in the future.

he was man enough? where? i dont see any apology nor any sensible explanation on his part. all he did was to step ahead as he was forced to defend his actions since it starts to be spoken of on other sites. among people he may want to sell something he was advertising to (if the product really exists, that is).

@klx300r

I call it as I see it - and this thread is all too evident that after all these years, some people just like to put the boot in for the sake of it, because it suits their agenda.

Its like fighting for the contents of a house, after the house has burnt down.
