@PR

Real3D is still sold and in development (not for Amiga of course). If they still use parts of the sources for their newest Real3D (what is very propable) then they will not sell it.

I know LibreOffice is on the way, but it would be nice if Word Worth or Final Writer could be updated as they will be much lighter on resources for classics, pretty much all they need is .docx and pdf support and they're great otherwise.

I know Aeon are OS4-centric but it would be nice if these updates supported more than just OS4 for the rest of the community too.

- ADPro (with fred, multilayer, multiframe and controlfiles)

- TVPaint
- Cinema4D
- Pagestream
- Wordworth (not as easy to port as amigawriter though)
- ImageFX
- DrawStudio

- Scala MM500
- Brilliance 2 (far better than DPaint ever was IMHO)
- Ignition (open soure, just needs porting)

@Severin

Cinema4D is not possible because of complicated legal situation (I asked Maxon some time ago if it is possible to include it in Aros Vision)

Wordworth not very propable too. I think there is noone left at Digita from the amiga time and I do not think they are interested to sell it (if the sources are there at all)

I agree and know about the problems but it's a wish list, we can all have our little fantasies. TBH I'd rather see AmigaWiter updated yather than Wordworth. I wonder if Alinea are considering it...

Few points here:

- It has been stated many times that A-EON is willing to produce software for any viable Amiga-like platform if there is a viable business model.

- A-EON is producing software for both Classic AmigaOS and AmigaOS 4. For example, the new PPaint 7.3 is now available to buy for AmigaOS 3 from www.ppaint.com

- A-EON has also produced new hardware for Classic Amigas: Prisma Megamix music card

- A-EON has also just signed an agreement today for another Classic AmigaOS game project ( more news soon)

@Everblue

Don't think Final Writer as have Libre Office coming soon ish!

Things that need PPC support and or further development:

TurboPrint
Pagestream
Timberwolf
Art Effect
Photogenics (still my favourite graphics package)

Probably lots of others too but they are ones that come to mind!

@amigakit

Unfortunately it does not work on Aros 68k anymore (in opposite to 7.2). Hope that this will not become a trend (I hope it will be sorted out in future).

"Viable business model" would mean to make the software easy portable

One software type I would like to see, which doesnt have a reasonable similarity that I can recall is a Flight Simulator. Very complex tho.

Tho something more along the lines of Flight Simulator X with yoke, rudder and TrackIR support would be out of this world.
Completely unrealistic at this point in time, but one can always dream

TFX by Ocean/DID

As I type this Im lined up at ENFL airport (Florų), programming the FMS 3000 CDU in a Kingair 350.
TrackIR really helps on realism.

What doesn't? PPaint 7.3? If 7.2 worked and 7.3 doesn't I suprised and would like to know what fails. Are you sure you mean 7.2 (from recent AmigaForever) and not the older 7.1

Please let me know *how* it failed, and what system it fails on (68020 ? 68000? WinUAE real hardware RTG etc etc).

I think more than trivial AROS specific fixes would need to wait for official sanction for an AROS port but 68k bugs revealed by AROS should certainly be fixed, same as MorphOS. (I fixed all the issue Develin pointed out except two that are still in progress).

The act of porting from 68k to PPC requires that anyway. ie migrating to C code. Once all in C dispite that some like to emphasise the differences, all the systemare amiga related API wise so really most amiga centric software is portable across amiga platforms. Older software like PPaint is more portable than newer stuff in some ways because it doesn't rely on GUI toolkits but builds its own from scratch (headache though that is in other ways....).

@broadblues

I will make a logfile this weekend. I tried to find out if it is the main binary or some of the other files but to me it seemed related to the main binary.

I use WinUAE with 68020 and run it on RTG (AGA as chipset, A1200)

I could send you the WinUAE config file if that helps

Could RTG be a problem there? Aros uses its own CybergraphX implementation. 7.2 I think opens AGA (not RTG)

One thing before you do, make sure that you don't have the PPaint: assign pointing at an older version as the blit libraries are unlikely to be compatable.

If the issue is related to meguard hits I found and fixed that issue.

Yes, but not if it already exists, and earlier installers did add to user startup.
