@Wanderer&all

The target platform could be:

-Amiga 1200 AGA 030/50 Mhz
-Amiga 500 (better than the original close to the Arcade machine)
-Amiga NG (Amiga One,SAM,A1-X1000,Pegasos)

I hope that this can clear the situation.

What or who can make the ideal Amiga port?

Of Out Run I mean jajajaj

I hope someone is interested and can make an upload to OS4 Depot in the future it could be cool.

PROGRAMMERS make it clear and post them here about Out Run

For your information I play Out Run a lot these days and i still like the Amiga fabolous
version,but I am not a programer I don't have programming skills for such task. so anything for money could do it.I think so.

Anymore ideas?

Thanks you

@newlight

mmm...I think that Hollywood was good only for NG platforms...no classic...
And also I think that to make such a remake we before need some sort of gfx/music to work on...a good engine alone cant do much...

@All

I think you guys have underestimated such remake (its graphics engine) and also probably overestimated Hollywood.

@Massi

Out Run is a dream game and unreachable by most PC 3D shooters/games today.

Unreachable it's supreme!!!

@newlight

These are basically 3 different games you describe by the target platform. From all perspectives, engine and media files, even potentially the programming language (ASM, C, C++, Hollywood)
Also, you state the original game is unreachable, why do you think a bunch of hobbyists can make it better? What exactly do you expect from an A500 version compared to the original?
On AmigaNG, you can play it emulated. On high end classic, you probably can run it with WHDLoad or something.

The remake must do something better/different.

@Wanderer

The Commodore A500, where well programmed is certainly up to a good remake (see the Lotus serie), surely it can do much better than the conversion from the 90s.
But as I already said before, it is really a BIG effort even for skilled developers. The same for modern Amiga.

@Massi

Absolutely agree, making a modern clone of Lotus Turbo challenge or Out Run will need to implement the same kind of fake 3D feeling, to get the same game play, or else you end up with need for speed. There is defiantly a challenge in staying true to the original game.

Part of what made the game challenging was that you needed to control the car with digital joystick, so you constantly taping the stick, to get the corners just right.

However, at the same time you like a modern game to look better than the original, so sticking to software rendering, does not make sense.

@Wanderer

I mean better playbility,better control movement of the Ferrari Testarossa,best graphics and spectacular sound close to the Arcade Machine.

Also some more options such new cars or something like that.

@NutsAboutAmiga

The game must be true to our roots of Amiga gamers.

And make some improvements too like graphics,sound,more detailed graphics and
all above the true Amiga Feeling of playing a big great game.

Who of you of the comunnity can make a new version in its free time or something near?

I will pay if someone embarks on a task like this.

What about to start a bounty for Out Run to A500/A1200/AONE?

Tell me what you think please

Any opinions are welcome

@newlight

I honestly think that such a task cant be made with a bountymaybe too much important rhings needs a bounty to be realized than an out run remake...
But for sure after the remake creation(if its good enough) you can ask some money for the full game....like the battle squadron remale...

But I ask again...do you have only the idea or something much like some gfx and/or music? And also...you for sure cant use Ferrari name in such low.budget project...and maybe that can be a great issue...

Yeah, Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast was awesome on the PS2. I don't really see why a remake of the original is required when Sega were so successful with the follow up! The drift mechanic was great, such a shame that Outrun Online was taken off the Playstation 3 store

Lotus 2 already got it beat imho, tho I will always welcome new/updated games for the Amiga

That is the Arcade version, the Amiga version was crap and slow as shite. Even the C64 version had smoother framerate than the Amiga.

PROGRAMMERS make it clear and post them here about Out Run

I'll make your outrun remake for you, to target Amiga NG
The cost will be 60,000 Pounds Sterling (less if you already have music and graphics ready to go, we can talk) and delivery time approx 2 years.

Interested?
