@broadblues

I've gone from random black pixels to a good representation of what i was trying to print.
I'be also fixed the printer settings to print color, and have tried at the highest resolution. At this point I had to reboot because of a crash, and spent 15 minutes trying to get back. I kept holding at "Countdown.. 2 (then 1)"

I'll scan it in when I finish dinner :)

here is the photo for reference:

I'm also trying to set up ePrinting if locally doesn't work. :)
There's more than one way to skin a cat

@broadblues

Scnned-in photo:

I am printing to a .ps file and using AmiGS from there.
My PrinterGFX prefs are:
Printer Type is HP PhotoSmart
Settings tab:
Print Quality: Letter
Dithering: Floyd-Steinberg
Scaling: Fraction
Image: Positive
Aspect: Horizontal
Shade: Color (just corrected from B&W)
Threshold: 7 (will lower to see if I can get it to print without freezing)
left edge: 0
Type: ignore (now changed to Bounded)

Page size tab:
Density 7 (600x600 DPI) — this is what caused the crash earlier. Lowering to 300x300. Now at Density 4, 300x300
Smoothing checked, Cener picture not checked
Now, as to my settings, let me pull up AmiGS:

The print resolution is 300x300 DPI
And it is printing again, let's see what happens.
Slower than molasses in January, and HALLELUJAH!!!!! It works!!!!!!

@StantheAmigaMan

Okay the random dots are just lousey dithering, you should be able to get better resuklts than that by fiddling with the settings.

Looks like your up an running in terms of driver etc though. Well done!

PS Both you imgs as embedded in this forum were really page links so I had to force them to open in a new tab

If you want to post page lnks rather than a direct img link use link
