It should recover and boot if you leave it . If your usb thumb drive has an led you should see activity after this.

You're damn right I reached in the Ubuntu Mate desktop (without the need to type a password).
I started to install it on another USB drive (I don't have another HD at hand) using your script. I also wrote the kernel to a partition of my USB key. I have to figure out if I can mimic your start process to start the kernel and files of my new installation.
Many thanks Spectre660 for your work. Now I can show Linux admins that PPC machines are still alive Last edited by elwood on 26-Sep-2016 at 11:03 PM. Last edited by elwood on 26-Sep-2016 at 09:48 PM.

yes I partitioned the USB drive with 2 partitions, 1 ext2 to place the kernel, dtb, ramdisk and one ext4 on which I copied the files, still with the AmigaOne_ubuntu-install script. Last edited by elwood on 27-Sep-2016 at 07:13 PM. Last edited by elwood on 27-Sep-2016 at 06:48 PM.

yes, I typed it incorrectly above. My partition "for the kernel" is ext2. Using tftp is faster than the USB key. Ah, if only we could load the whole image from tftp...
I'm soon leaving home so I won't able to try in the next 3 weeks. Last edited by elwood on 27-Sep-2016 at 07:16 PM.

Kernel also supports quite a few SATA II and SATA III controller if anyone wants to experiment with a pciex1 one.
