Me too.

Amiga got the rights to use NG from IBM who already had extensive rights to everything Star Trek in relation to personal computers, in return IBM was allowed to create OS/2 and REXX from Amiga.

True story.

P.S I have left out the animated versions. No doubt some will want to start a flame war about what is real Star Trek and what isn't.

You included ST: Prodigy, which is animated, but you excluded ST: Lower Decks, which is canon with ST: SNW via the cross-over episode.

P.S. Amiga is not Star Trek.

There is only one way to get NG on Amiga in 2024.
It is hard work on open source mui clone.
no attacks on ppc, no writing dumb articles but hard work.

Oops yes, intended to leave them all out.
Left out Start Trek The Animated Series as well as Lower Decks.

P.S Amiga like all things, should strive to mirror the perfection of the Star Trek universe.

Live long and prosper.

There doesn't appear to be any sources in that repository.

@Karlos

https://github.com/amiga-mui/muidev/releases
You can see some source code along side the builds, since I am not a coder I never went to bother to actually download them... My fault, I also associate GitHub with a space where binary releases are often released alongside with sources, in Amiga world we have builds released without sources ..

Open-source AROS has open-source Zune. http://www.aros.org/introduction/status/zune.php

So what you're saying is that AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and AROS x86 are NG by the virtue of there not being a better UX released over the past decade or so? By that logic, if nothing changes in the post-Commodore Amiga experience over the next decade or so, the turn of the millennium tech delivered in the 2010s will still be NG?

Yep

One thing you forget is I got the Amiga NG name for twitter/x the .com domain, the user profile name on nearly every major Amiga forum, YouTube channel name etc. etc, so I kinda get to dictate what Amiga NG means/covers anyway šŸ˜

this is what happens when you ask Ai what Amiga NG means.

ā€˜ AmigaNG stands for **Amiga Next Generation**, which is a term used to refer to the various projects and products that aim to revive, modernize, or emulate the Amiga computer and operating systemĀ¹. Some examples of AmigaNG are:

- **PPC systems**: These are computers that use PowerPC processors and run AmigaOS 4, the latest official version of the Amiga operating systemĀ¹Ā².
- **FPGA boards**: These are devices that use field-programmable gate arrays to recreate the hardware of the original Amiga models, such as the A500 or the A1200Ā¹Ā³.
- **Remakes and Mini Retro computers**: These are products that are inspired by the design and functionality of the classic Amiga machines, such as the A500 Mini or the Amiga 3000 ReplicaĀ¹ā“ .
- **Emulation Scene**: This is the community of Amiga fans who use software such as WinUAE or FS-UAE to run Amiga games and applications on modern computers or devicesĀ¹ .
- **Aros**: This is an open source operating system that is compatible with AmigaOS 3.x and can run on various platforms, such as x86, ARM, or Raspberry PiĀ¹ .
- **MorphOS**: This is another operating system that is heavily inspired by AmigaOS and can run on PPC systems, such as Mac mini or PowerBookĀ¹ .

AmigaNG is a way of keeping the Amiga spirit alive and showing the world the innovation and creativity that the Amiga platform has to offer. ā€˜

Which I agree with, unsurprisingly.

3.8 is all that is needed... all others are backwards compatible

Yes, all other (newer) MUI implementations are backwards compatible, but as ppcamiga1 wrote, Zune fails to be 3.8 compatible still.

@amigang

So you asked a computer to give you the answer.
Why does that sound familiar?

@jPV

Mui has a ton of MCC and such... Exactly what does that means? As for Zune failing to comply... it still gets work done, and it's not that you a) cannot go and do it yourself, b) use mui if you feel like it...
