Which language is best to swear in?

I imagine german swear words would sound the most nasty. German death metal alwats sounds better than british death metal (and I think death metal suxx) because it sounds more aggressive which suits the style of music.

American is the most boring they haven´t got any swearwords.
Swedish is a good one:
"Look at the Devil when he brushes his pig." -expresses suprise
We are very religious when we are swearing.
For some reason we never mention God only the evil powers. Maybe because God is proven to be more dangerous.

@Dan

I prefer to swear without using swear words.
Such as:
"I find you more ugly than the backend of a slapped porcupine eating a cheese omelete covered in branston pickle"
And don't forget to add:
"Oh yes!"

You have to dribble a bit of course and start talking about the rabbits out to get you, etc.
It usually makes people back away slowly I find.

@Dan

Not much beats Finnish swearwords, there is anger behind words like perkele!

@Olegil

Gunne should be able to provide a cd for you, don't you think?
Or Hyperion should be able to post one for you directly, after all the effort you've put in the linux-development of the A1.

I'd expect Alan to be the one owing Olegil at least a prerelease CD.

@Bobsonsirjonny

Greek You can feel your mouth "filled" with air when you swear
For example, when you say "bastarde", you pronounce it *B*a*S*tar*D*e!
You can also swear and not let the other know that you did if he doesn't
know the language!

I agree that thats probably the best oneword swearing, there is so much feeling in just one word.
Which is the most colorful?

Either my english->swedish protocol is malfunctioning, or that's a new one to me.

Though, swearing in Swedish comes off as a wee bit more sinister when you translate it directly to English. How about "You cursed devilly bottom!" or "you idiotic little devil"...and "you're so into hell corked." "You're wholly end in the head," is a good one as well.
It's like being insulted by a raging psychopath. Quite scary, if you ask me.

Well, it's good to know that we're still religious in at least some respect, right?

Well, I doubt that it originates from trying to summon the evil powers referenced. I think it's more to do with the fact that you're trying to point the blame somewhere. Just giving credit where credit's due.

"Look at the Devil when he brushes his pig."

Never heard of that one, what do you translate that to?

"Se på fan när han stryker grisen" ? LoL

From OS4 prerelease to swearing, I guess people really do not care about Hyperion now having the CD's at hand ;)

Hi

Sorry to be a pain, and the question has probably been asked a million times!
But.... will OS4 work with a PPC blizzard/mediator combo?

Cheers

Well, it's not like it's different from the past twentytwelve times the status of OS4 has been inquired. An initial question, a few follow-ups, someone voices some new concerns, and then one of the Jedi brothers jumps in to clear things up. After which, the original topic just fades away and the entire thread deteriorates. Funny thing is, though, that if the threads are kept active for sufficiently long, they have a tendency to suddenly snap back on topic and become really interesting again, with any number of new revelations. Just look at the statistics, and let the numbers speak for themselves.

Maybe HJF will need to clear his throat again anytime soon. Until then, let's just enjoy the BS, a'right?

Och grisen kanske bara var ovårdad i håret och behövde kammas? Kan dock inte föreställa mig varför Hin Håle själv måste kallas in för att utföra den uppgiften...

The prerelease - no. The final release - yes, very likely.

Thanks HJ

Great news for me, and probably a lot of other power Amiga users who have invested a lot of time and money in their "classic" Amigas.
