No wonder no one can understand me, I've been speaking English instead of American.

Although it really pisses me off when people pronunce Schedule "SKEDULE"..

It's SHEDULE!!

Tomato :

Its a TOM AR TOE not a TOMATE O

However a Potato is PO TAY TOE

And the 1st floor of a building is not the GROUND FLOOR!

A Subway is not an underground rail way station, but a path that goes under ground.

A Sidewalk is a pavement

An Elevator is a Lift..

And how many British people have English Muffins?

I was gonna go off on one about spelling - eg colour vs color.. but Im crap at spelling so could see many a fall for the pedant to trip me up over

Breaking News: Hyperion Prepare to Despatch AmigaOS 4 Pre-Release
*

Hans-Jörg Frieden of Hyperion has stated on Amiga World that they have just received copies of the AmigaOS 4 Pre-release from the duplicators.

These copies will be packaged now and sent out to the dealers, who in turn will pass on the package to AmigaOne owners. It is expected that users in Europe will receive the pre-release next week, while the rest of the world may have to wait another week.

Okay, I did a Quick look here at Amigaworld . . . .was this really said?

@Warrent

I think announcing forum posts as "news" is going to put off developers from giving us these nice little bits of information in future.

@realize

They've said all along that the Cyberstormppc version will come first (the final version), followed by the A1 version.

-Edit- Sorry I mis read your post... I dont think they will be able to be more specific with release dates other than what I've just said though.. sorry.

Yeah, now that one IS annoying, after struggling up stairs with a 21" monitor after the customer telling me on the phone that he is on the 1st floor, ringing him from the phone outside the door, then him telling me he meant he was downstairs.

But what can you do, the customer is always right, (even when they are wrong )

Help? I am not sure what you mean? I did not announce anything . . . read what is at

http://www.amigaflame.com/amihypos.htm

I was just wondering what is said at that site is correct?

I "think" there is some truth there and I was just wondering about the part
. . . .

If this is correct then I do not understand how that would "put off" any developers, it would be true. That is okay. But if it is not true then they may be "put off". But I thing we would like to know that?

Even if it is only a prerelease, this is great news for the Amiga community at all for several reasons, which I will try to show from my POV.

1. It's not vapourware anymore. Everyone who wants to get hold of AmigaOS 4 can have it, even if it is only prerelease.
2. Not only some selected betatesters, but some causal users can evaluate it, so
they can notice some unsuspected features and eventually report them which will lead to better final product.
3. If you buy AmigaOne hardware, you don't need to mess with Linux anymore - less reasons for not buying.
4. Now people can actually compare AmigaOS 4 with the other alternatives and see for real if it really satisfies them. No need to look at videos or screenshots, you can see and try it in real situations now.
5. The trolls who pop up here and there can't argue about the product not being available. Of course they will find another arguments as always. I am not optimistic that anything can stop them, but at least they have less weapons now.
6. Now the dealers list the AmigaOne with AmigaOS 4 prelease which is plus for the product at all.

I am not sure that this is correct. At the very least it is very difficult to judge how many CyberStorm PPC's are still being used. I rather suspect its the other way around.

With that mention of the Secret Underground Base of Hyperion; comes the rather disturbing rumour that the vile-archvillian Bill Gates III has been in collaboration with US Black Millitary.

The rumour continues that they are to use a TOP SECRET
United States Air Force tunnel boring machine to tunnel underneath the Atlantic Ocean to Belgium! This rumour is very disturbing . . . . . ar-r-r-r-r-r-r-r!

Well, my A3000 with its CyberStormPPC (it's second) died at the beginning of 2003. Since I knew my A1 was on the way (it did arrive in April) I didn't persue getting the motherboard fixed (after all, it was 13 years old and had been running continuously, except when I was on vacation/holiday). Actually, I've been doing all my course materials with PageStream on the A1 using UAE and (with the current version of Richard Drummond's release) the performance isn't significantly lower than on my CSPPC. I hope you're right about the number of A1s being used. I'd ordered the A1, rather than one of the other options for use in the A3000, since I knew its life wasn't going to be much
longer.

It's great to know that AOS4 is (or will be shortly) on the way. Thanks again to you and your brother for all your work.

Hey we tried a pre -emptive strike like that from England, a fair few years ago but their defensives where too good and we got diverted to France,so we just named it the chunnel

For some reason we never mention God only the evil powers. Maybe because God is proven to be more dangerous.

Well, I doubt that it originates from trying to summon the evil powers referenced. I think it's more to do with the fact that you're trying to point the blame somewhere. Just giving credit where credit's due.[/quote]

But if someone says "Oh, God" they are either religious or too wellbehaved for real swearing.
And I think the devil thing is because we are more comfortable with him than God.
After all the Devil keeps his word and he can be fooled, but you can´t fool God.

"(Må) Fan ta dig"="(May) the Devil take you" that IS summoning evil powers.

@Sbaitso

Well you have the words but you never use them. Its just f#ck this f#ck that.

Swearing is done best in dialect , there is probably some little town somewhere in US where people actually can do it but we never get to hear it.

I hate the way those kids today abuse the swedish language. The don´t know how to swear its just f#ck and wh#re and stuff like that.
If they want to talk like that we should just dump them in Jugoslavia or America.
