@Eyetech

In these days,hopefully due to the holiday period,the Amiga has had a shortage of news,so this is VERY welcome.

I already bought a "normal" A1,so this won't be for me,but we urgently need new users, to further development and to create software.
At these prices,I think we stand a good chance of increasing the size of our
user base.

@Eyetech

Thanks for the info.
The price seems fair enough.

Please, do make sure that the cpu-cooling really is adequete, so it works in varm places too

@Eyetech

Very good news. But is 6 channel audio really 6.1, and not 5.1

Other than that, great news, and i too like the price.

btw: the 44pin HD header, thats for 2.5incs drives right?

@Eyetech

One word:

Cool

Ok, I have some more words ( ):
I would like to see some pictures of the µ-A1-I. Sounds like you guys managed to pull off the big one with that board. Bit pricey, but I will just assume you know what you're doing here

I would also love a glance at the riser card spec mentioned, has it ever been tested? I could get a good deal on the PCBs and if it contains no pricey components I could at least supply my closest friends

Edit:
Ok, so PCI-104 is a standard. Didn't know that.
The question still stands, is it PCI-104 compliant, bus-compatible or merely borrowing a connector that people out there already use?

@olegil

I believe it's a Silicon Images680 ATA 133 IDE controller.

Actually, I'm quite sure of it.

@Eyetech

Would you mind if this was posted on the Small Form Factor website in
their Mini-ITX forum?

SFFTech

Most of the people there are MS-Win users with a few into Linux.

@syrtran

It could be passed on to www.mini-itx.com too as well.
They have mentioned A1-micro there before.

That's very, very cool indeed. I think my A1-SE may be looking for a new home when the uA1-I becomes available

@Eyetech

Thanks, Alan. It's now posted on SFFTech's Mini-ITX forum.

(Warning - I mentioned an alternative platform in the post, 'cause last time I answered a post there concerning PPC Mini-ITX, a troll popped up)

CMI 8738 is definitely 5.1 channel chip.

This is great news!

I'll definitely buy one or two as soon as they come out. I'll be interested in one for OS4 and one for linux. They could be good for IDS (or other probes) or other network devices .

I'd like to see them packaged with that great A1200esque case project I have seen on Aworld.

Available October - Yeeehaw! Rockin' and on schedule! I hope stellar dreams get a merchant credit account and a decent shopping cart!

I dunno whether this is good or bad news...

It's nice to see new Amigas but I had hoped for a lower price.
I thought the idea for the MicroA1 was that the industrial use for it would raise production so it would become cheaper for the enduser aswell, not that 2 diff. versions would be made?
