Throw away their coupons?

What coupons?

I paid my 50 Euros - but never received an y kind of rebate-coupon up to today - did I miss something?

@Dandy

Obviously Party Pack coupons. Amiga Club members didn't receive any coupons.

Unlike with Party Pack purchasers their personal information is known by Amiga Inc, thus there's no need for any coupons.

Addressing everyone,

Am I holding/using the current AOS4.0 pre-release update right now???
NO!!!

I'd MUCH RATHER have AOS pre-release, the update, and in the near future, AOS4.0 itself, than some stupid t-shirt.

I'd MUCH RATHER have AOS4 pre-release than some stupid t-shirt as well - but that's not my point - I'm going to try to explain it for you:

When I ordered the coupon for the price of 50 €, the conditions were that I get a 50 Euro rebate if I buy an A1 or OS4 or both.

Additionally I was promised a T-shirt and a life-long club Amiga membership.

Furthermore it was a matter of fact in these days that the OS4 version for classic PPC Amigas would come out prior to the A1 version.

As I wanted to test OS4 on my existing classic A4000PPC *BEFORE* I started to think about buying an A1/OS4, I made the decision to order and pay the coupon based on *THESE* conditions.

While I see the T-shirt as a "nice to have", I'm really annoyed that the Amiga owners *LATER* decided to change their plans to release the OS version for classic PPC Amigas first and that I never got the coupon up to now - just an e-mail stating they received my money and would send me the T-shirt and the coupon "within the next few weeks" - and that's about two and a half years ago now.

Atheist wrote:
I mean, is it some kind of crisis that we didn't get it (/yet)???

I don't know HypeRions understanding of "crisis" (assuming you're referring to to the coupon with "it") - but if I had a product to sell (OS4 for classic PPC Amigas; T. Frieden told me in an e-mail in Jan 2003 that it would already be in Beta testing phase since a couple of weeks) and then would *NOT* be allowed to sell it (AInc delays the classic version for nearly two years until the A1 version is finished), that *certainly* would mean a crisis for *ME* - it would drive me mad - especially if I'm short on money anyway.

But as I said above - I don't know HypeRions understanding of "crisis"...

"Grin and bear it"?
And what's so funny with being betrayed that you advise me to grin?

Quote:

Atheist wrote:
Walk away, and guess how much harder it will be for AOS to come back!

Having the millions of former Amigans in mind I don't think that it matters a lot if I walk away or not (with regard to AmigaOS's chances for a comeback)!

Atheist wrote:
I say what happened was wrong, but ask yourself, is the alternative what you really want????

I assume you're referring to MorphOS with "the alternative" - and I have to admit that I can't tell you.

It's similar as with AOS4:
The version for classic PPC Amigas is *STILL* not available - so I can't test it on my existing hardware.

And before I could not test the new OSses on my existing hardware I will not think about buying one of the new HWs!

Is there any reason why you write it like this ? I mean, you did it two times. So I assume you're trying to ridicule us. Are you accusing Hyperion of HYPE ?

We said multiple times that the A1 and CSPPC versions are at the same level. Is the A1 version available ? No. The purpose of the prerelease is to make the AmigaOne an Amiga by allowing it to run AmigaOS. Your classic can do that. I think I also told you something in that line in email, but it obviously doesn't serve your agenda to tell this here as well...

No, Thomas - certainly not - just my nervous little finger over that Shift key...

Yes - but unfortunately *AFTER* I had bought the coupon...
(O.K. - I know - Hyperion was not involved in that coupon issue)

Please forgive me - but after nearly two years I'm really not sure which line in that e-mail you're referring to.
Do you mean the part where you said that you hope to come out with OS for CEBIT 2003?
Or do you mean the part where you stated that things might happen that cause a delay beyond CEBIT 2003?

Edit:

PS:
The first time I (mis)typed "Hyperion" was my nervous little finger`s fault.
The second time was just a copy/paste of the first one - without thinking about it and without even noticing it.
I`m very sorry for my inattentiveness - so please don`t over-react!
I understand the touchiness - but don`t see enemeys where no enemeys are!

Hey - this one is *NOT* to offend anyone - it just stroke me:
On the first three pages of this thread it had *repeatedly* been asked that someone of Hyperion or Eyetech shows up and says something to the topic - but in vain.
And then I show up, happen to mistype one single letter and - bang! - there he is - the terminator - pointing with a gun at my head!

But nevertheless - thanks for showing up!

Let's be crystal clear on this. You did it on purpose. It was never funny then and it isn't funny now. Please, respect goes both ways. And that goes for all the forums and not just here on AW. Thank you.

@ssolie

Thank you ssolie. The ranting on this thread is nothing short of pathetic.

Dandy the coupons are T-Shirts are not Hyperion's or Eyetech fault. as a matter of fact both advised Bill McEwen against it at the time.

In future if I see any more posts on AW accusing Hyperion or Eyetech about the coupons and t-shirts, I will ban the persons involved.

Wise up.

You must have an itchy finger, then... because every instance of "Hyperion" in your post had the capitalized R...

Quote:
Yes - but unfortunately *AFTER* I had bought the coupon...

As you said yourself: We never came up with the cupon thing. I never knew about it until it was actually made public.

Quote:

I _never_ said it would come out for CeBit 2003. I said we hope to release it on CeBit 2003. I also told you _numerous_ times that all we can do is give it our best. I also told you numerous times that our budget is extremely tight and that we have to deviate from time to time to actually survive.

So don't give me that implied "You are a liar" nonsense. I never gave any definitive release date ever. Not to you, not to anybody else. It seems you keep a very selective memory.

I just edited my original posting to explain this in the P.S. ...

Hmmmm - I can`t see any basic difference in that to what I said in the part you quoted:
"... you said that you hope to come out with OS for CEBIT 2003..."

Quote:

I also told you _numerous_ times that all we can do is give it our best.

I never denied that...

Quote:

That`s exactly what I meant with "...where you stated that things might happen that cause a delay beyond CEBIT 2003?" - I just
couldn`t recall the exact wording after nearly two years!
Quote:

It seems you keep a very selective memory.

If at all, could we perhaps agree on that we *BOTH* suffer from a "very selective memory", as you obviously forgot the fact that
I *REPEATEDLY* stated at various places how much I *APPRECIATE* your and Hans-Jürgens *COMMITMENT* for the Amiga.

I NEVER SAID OR IMPLIED YOU OR ANY ONE ELSE OF HYPERION OR EYETECH IS A LIAR!
THIS IS A SERIOUS ACCUSATION WITHOUT ANY REASON!

I hope this is clear now once and forever!
