Hi everyone,

since time immemorable I've had my floppy drive basically unattached. from what i can see.. there is a single screw in there that works.

I recently put a screw into it and it did secure it but in doing so the amiga seemed to fail to boot up which was scary to say the least, however simply removing the screw allowed the unit to link back up again.

Soooo now I'm trying to figure out what would be a wise thing to use instead that will secure the unit and not cause it to short out.

Thanks,
Caleb

@227,

Shorter screw and make sure there is no stress on the floppy.

@227

It's worked for years, leave it alone...

@227

Two screws under the case from the outside, one internal on a triangle piece of metal

thanks everyone for the advise.. i forgot to set this thread to notify me by email. sorry about the slow response..

I came across this deal on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-A600-1200-5-screws-replacement-for-CASING-etc-/131739776474?hash=item1eac4d75da:g:0XQAAOSwzgRW1JWI

would one of these be sufficient? i ordered them anyway because i wanted to have the right kind of casing screws.. the ones i got in there didn't feel right.. not the right threading..

I would like to secure it because when you push floppies into it.. it kinda wiggles and disks don't always slide in/out smoothly.. i figure it would be good too just for insuring everything is secure.

does anyone happen to have a good close up photo of how theirs is installed?

Thanks,
Caleb
