Considering the source, what do you think?

Let's concentrate on the tangible OS instead of the VapourOS, OK?

EDIT: Typo

@AmigaBlitter

It doesn't exist. Don't you think we had better wait until the legal issues with Amiga are sorted out first before starting on another one?

We know that is it being developed inhouse by Amiga Dev India who are .NET experts, therefore it can be assumed that OS5 is based on .NET...

Actually, we know that it's not being developed by Amiga Dev India. Bill McEwen stated this.

Well Amiga Dev India are working on something. I don't think Amiga inc want to do OS5 after this mess (and you know they blame us not themselves) but still want to do stuff that runs on cellphones...

Amiga.n+1: "Hmmm, AmigaDE is dead, what else can we use?"
Amiga.n+1:"Aha! Bare-bones Linux kernel with Java API"

If they want to stick to their "run anywhere" model this seems about the only way to go.

The end-user doesn't see Linux anywhere. It's all Java.

That's my guess.

I doubt Amiga inc would want to spend the amount of money it takes to get a professional coder to do the job when they can buy the software components for .NET off the shelf for cheap!

Such as?

After so many years in charge and - as far as is evident - not a line of code written I find it hard to believe that they are working on anything save the next big hype scam to try to get someone to buy the company.

Would any company that is legit go through the Kent Centre nonsense?

Better yet, what about AmigaAnywhere 2?

McEwen claimed in his response to the 20 questions that it would be available within 30 days.

Apparently the starting date was unknown.

If OS5 really is "better than Mac OS-X," do you really think that they would want to say that they couldn't do it themselves?

Hans
