@ilbarbax
if your question is: do you plan a import modul for some great spreadsheet-program?
then is the answer i do, but my time is limited! i do not know, when it is done.

maybe an other programmer made this. all import/exports function a seperated in moduls.
let me know if somebody will do this part, to prevent double work.

since two weeks is ignitionOS4 now online as beta2. you can find it at sourceforge and also on os4depot.net.

for the further development it will be very helpful for me to get comments, remarks and suggestions about it.
let me know if you are missing something or sent me a report about errors, when you find some.
the next release is work in progress and maybe i can implement something of your ideas or correct some unknown errors.

I quickly tested it. It starts and works well. Bravo !

Just a detail, is it normal that the menus and options are sometimes in english and sometimes in german ?

Seem to remember it being like that when I tried it a number of years ago.

For now there is only a development for aos4, all changes a marked with ifdef's. Some changes a not special for aos4 and maybe work also for other OS. But for now i have not (can not) test it.

@zzd10h @rob
Thank you for the error-report!
I can also reconstruct this error. It is a Problem of the installation-script.
A workaround is to temporaly changes the OS language to english and then install ignition.
I will take a look on it and i hope that i can fix it. I do not know anything about installation scripts. It seems to be a Lisp language.

Right, it works but after it come back in german when I restore my French Locale .

Even by :
-removing catalogs drawer
-or rename English drawer into French
it comes back in german

@zzd10h
i take a look on this problem.
it is not enough to rename the english dir to french. the catalog has an internal marker, that he is an english catalog and not a french, so translation is fall back to the internal state. this "internal" language is german!
sorry i will change this in the next release to make english to default!
i have create a french.catalog with english translation, please sent me a email if you want this workaround!
to remove the info-dialog at startup of ignition, please rename the english.functions to french.functions. you find them in the config-dir. with this file it is possible to translate the function-names.

@all
what i really need is some translator, please contact me for cd or ct-files. i can also give you a simplecat project-file.

I couldn't get Mercurial (from OS4 depot) to checkout the sources but at least at sf.net I was able to download a snapshot. I don't use codebench so I've written some standard makefiles based on your codebench makefile and the AROS makefiles. I compiled my own version of the program with default English text instead of German. Some of the strings throw errors with CatComp so I used Flexcat. It's not too hard to change a copy of the english.ct to ignition.cd; mostly just adding (//) at the end of the string titles and a few changes to the header.

That being said, I would appreciate it if you keep the repository up to date with your bugfixes and changes.

Thanks for the work you've done to port ignition.

Codebench emits a standard make file, so you should be able to just use it as is. Unless ofcourse only the project file is in the repository in which case I'd advise add the generated makefile too, for just that reason.

I'd recomend Codebench if you haven't tried it, I find it indispensble these days.

You will find my email in the "Email:" area here
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=video/play/smtube.lha

Thank you for the french.catalog.

Concerning the .cd/.ct files. How many sentences does Ignition contains ?
If not very much, i will be able to translate in french, otherwise I still have so many OS4 things to do...

I have nothing against codebench as long as the emitted makefile is present, which it is for the ignition program. I'm just rewriting it so I can compile the entire project from the top level makefile. It's just a personal preference thing.

i can promise you that the repository will be always updated. but for the next release please be patient.
before i put it in, i will get some reports from the user about errors or suggestions and make one important part of ignition better.

@zzd10h
i think it a really big job to translate it, so i think that your time is too limited.

@all
the translation of ignition has three parts.
1) the menues are translated via ignition-prefs. the result is saved in config/ignition.prefs.
so if you will help me with the translation, do not change any prefs-entry. only translate the
menues and save this for the ignition install archiv.
2) the catalog-files include all dialog-text's.
3) "LANGUAGE.functions". With this file you can translate the functions-names if you want it,
or copy the english.

you can sent me the translations for the next release or put it into aminet/os4depot. the translations work with the 68k and the os4 version of ignition. it is your choice.
