>>I think for all the work you are doing, you should get a Sam440 for free!

I totally agree with you. But nothing yet, so I am selling more Minimig cases and Amiga gear to finance this huge project...

Oh, you actually meant it! sorry. Often people use winky smileys at the end of a sarcastic comment or joke. I couldn't understand "the joke" here.. I didnt realise you were being sincere. My bad. :)

@TheDaddy

Are you in contact with Hyperion and ACube for a potential collaboration. Feel free not to answer if its at the sensitive stage.

Just stick to the ITX standards and all boards confirming that standard should fit the SAM's case. Just make sure to not forget the SAM Flex board.

@The Daddy

I don't know why you weren't awarded the Sam440EP at the Amiga Event in Coventry a few weeks ago. How you're expected to cover the shortcomings of a Sam + OS4.1 with no official case on your own with no official advertising or encouragement is awful. AmigaKit should give you a discount on a Sam at least!

I suppose that was used for the raffle, I would have loved that SAM. I would have started working on the case straight away, instead I am still trying to raise the money to buy one SAM and OS4.1 by producing more Minimig cases and selling my Amiga gear (games and computers) on ebay...I have managed to get £20 until now...still a long way to go.

I haven't had any help at all...sometimes I think why bother...

I have tried to contact ACube, several times, and to be fair they did say they would try and sort me one out but that was more than a month ago and I do believe they are very busy, but it's still very difficult and it makes development really slow. Although I have most of the components and my sketches, the most important thing is the SAM.

That is what I did with the Minimig, I was one of the first ones to buy it and after a couple of months I thought that maybe it needed a case, at least to protect it from spillages. I am still trying to absorb the development costs a year later.

Thank you for the words

And I did email Amiga Inc. about using the boing ball on the Minimig enclosures.....nothing.

I don't understand, here are a bunch of creative people trying to help the Amiga name and all you get is silence.

I personally believe that using the Amiga and the boing ball or the tick on a Minimig, or other cases would be free publicity but hey......

Do Amiga Inc. actually own the tick trademark?

Companies do not want free publicity but cold hard cash. If Amiga Inc (or what ever company is owning Amiga trademaks now) did not reply maybe your business proposal was not good enough. Refine it, offer more money and try again.

Alternatively you could just start using logo without their permission. I know individuals who sold boing ball stickers and didnt get sued so probably you dont get sued either.

I think it is not. I have never seen checkmark logo when making search at USPTO and I havent seen that logo used by any company for many years.

Start a SAM case bounty. I'll donate a few dollars to it.

I'm quite partial to the tick myself. It reminds me of awesome computers.

Anyway, the tick doesn't have to be exactly the same. I doubt this is a coincidence:

I think the easiest and still a very cool case design would be the Amiga floppy "brick".
http://www.myoldcomputers.com/museum/perif/pics/amiga1010.jpg

By connecting that to A500 case&keyboard&keyrah it would be a pretty evil combination. 8D

@KimmoK

I have finished the concept stage of the project, once I have my hands on a SAM I should be able to show something.

Can anyone lend me a spare SAM?

Talk to AmigaKit or ACube. Why should you have to rely on another private individual to lend you a Sam to get this product shipped? It really does begger belief that the only decent Amiga themed case is the Relic 'The Red One' case which has a dubious french only website and minimal order details. The market is wide open for your product and I for one will not buy a Sam until I can get one fully bundled with a power supply and case alongside OS4.1 and the motherboard!

>>Talk to AmigaKit or ACube.

I am in the process... they are very busy though and I am itching!

>>Why should you have to rely on another private individual to lend you a Sam to get this product shipped?

I know and I can't believe I can't buy it myself yet....I am going to list all my Amiga games on ebay again and raise some more money. Hopefully selling the rest of the second batch of Minimig cases is going to help.

>>The market is wide open for your product and I for one will not buy a Sam until I can get one fully bundled with a power supply and case alongside OS4.1 and the motherboard!

I am ready to go. This is what you can expect from me:

Amiga inspired case with possibly an inbuilt DVD-RW, space for a 2.5" SATA HDD (I could source one out if required) and PSU.

I am obviously going to test the DVD-RW with OS4.1 and other packages which burn CDs and DVDs before ordering in big quantities.

That is all I have planned for us.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Place one order to AmigaKit and one order to yourself and you've got a complete package ! Get AmigaKit to stock your cases and the whole bundle could be bought from one vendor = the future!
