@All:

NEW EDIT
OK, managed to find and install magicserver, then managed to install hooks and modules. And animbrushes.
after all this intense and hard work, still no go.
When I load program I retrieve a DSI error. ImageFX itself??
END NEW EDIT

Just got my Image FX 4.5 studio, and it wont let me install it.

the installer gets stuck at:

Sorry....an error has occured!

COPYFILES:Problem wih source file/drawer "RAM:Browser.info" in line 1717.

DOS Error Type: Unable to locate a file or drawer

Can anyone who has installed this program onto their os4.1 please let me know what or how they went to install it.

I even copied the whole cd contents onto my hard drive, in a drawer, and then there was a different problem, it did get past the browser.info though.

Yet again, things are looking a bit bleak to obtain a PERFECT SYSTEM.

Cheers.

EDIT:
Interesting, when I had copied the browser.info into ram disk, it went passed that, and then asked for another .browser, so I kept on placing these files into ram disk, and it almost worked for the whole install.

Unfortunately, I got stuck on something that required more than just an .info file.
I will edit this again tonight, when I try it again, so you guys can help me.
I got 88% of the install done doing the above, with .info files, drawers, etc.

END EDIT

I would really like this to work, so I can start learning some cool features of this program

@TiredofLife

OK, Found out, it seems, after my silly icon thingy, when I then did a system upgrade/repair install, I lost the mpega.library.
Have snce re-installed that, and tune net only partly works now

Like, it plays only 20 seconds of a song or something like this??

I wanted constant radio flow from stations here??

Can you explain to me if I am doing something wrong, or how people generally use their tunenets radio??

thank you.

Also

http://radio-amiga-mania.sytes.net/index-english.html

How can I get this playing on tunenet.As it does not seem to work on Ibrowse??

Thank you to all so far.

@Gebrochen

Which mpeg library are you using?
I'm using -

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=library/misc/mpega_libmad.lha

What speed is your internet connection?
Have you tried more than one station?
What is the audio quality of the stations you are testing?

@Gebrochen

ImageFX:
Try locating the Installer (Utilities?) and dropping it into your dock. For some reason mine was missing an icon, sure it there in an earlier release. Now once you have it simple drop the IFX install icon on top. This will install using the OS4 installer providing it uses a standard instal;l script which it looks like it does. Some times the old 68k installer give errors on OS4 for some reason, although it looks exactly the same! This method is also needed for Wordworth.

Radio mania?
Doubt it will work in IBrowse without configuring via MIME types. I went there on my Mac and heard nothing. Read down on the site and it tells you what programs to read.

@Gebrochen

Quake works(last I checed0 but gives me grey blocks within the normal graphics during gameplay, is there a patch to fix this for os4.1 users?
It's perfect in OS4.1. I don't have any patches for Sapphire 9250. GLQuake is OK too except for the sound quality.

AmiChess stalls/freezes on me, is it not meant for os4.1, only os4, or is it my hardware, or why?
Amichess 2.4 runs perfect in OS4.1. Narration voice of HAL works fine; an excellant chess player! I have no idea what your problems are...

@Snuffy

Did you dvplayer also work flawlessly on os4.1?

Because I was missing two much needed files, a codec and something else, then I had to download the newest version of dvdvcd.plugin, ever since, my dvplayer works.

SO

Maybe it is a hardware thing for me. You are running(according to your signature) on different hardware than me. I am running on sam440ep.

Cheers anyway.

@Hans

About quake 3, I downloaded iuquake3 again and now it works, but, the speed of the game is so slow, why??

Even when I did the ####test setting, it still was slow, but yet, shogo with better graphics than quake 3's ####test graphics runs fast and smooth, and thats at shogos best settings.

Please explain??

Also to note, the sound seems to be very, very, extremely, flaky, or perhaps stuttery.

Also, wanted to know, what the deal is with the open arena download I downloaded. Can I use the same pak files I have for Open arena, r do I need to obtain a different set of pak files??

Cheers.

@All

It seems Mpega.library, when re-installed, has fixed some things automatically for me. Such as the AmiChes program, now works for me, without freezing or anything like this.

It also is amazing, how my Image FX 4.5 studio is still no working, even after finally managing to install it.

I am now getting a, Unable to open tool, IMAGEFX.

However, when I go to my previous drawer, whereby I had just copied the whole cd cntents onto my hard drive, I get a DSI "imageFX"

Then after ignoring DSI, it gives(first time for me since using my new system) a pop up window saying ImageFX Error.

What can I do to fix these issues?

Kind regards

Amiga Memeber

Well, I was under impression that the Warp3D drivers for Sam were beta, that may explain some of the problems.

IIRC I wrote a short instruction for installing OpenArena. You should download 0.8.1 data and unpack it as told in the readme file. But be warned, OA is slower than Q3A.

You can't compare Shogo and Q3 engine, or you can, but it's as useful as comparing apples and oranges.

@Snuffy and @All

It seems my mpega.library, after re-installation has fixed many things and problems, such as AmiChess.

However, my AmigaAMP still freezes my machine, when I place a track, either from hard drive or cd into the playlist, and push play. Sure it plays, but I than can no longer use my Amiga.

So I hard reset doesnt even work, so it is off to the off/on button.

Can anyone tell me there AmigaAMP setup and libraries please?

Maybe I am missing something here?

@ mr.capehill

Its ok, I am happy that ioquake even works without giving me DSI's, or ISI's.
It is just slow as, and if Open Arena is even slower, than I will stick with IOquake.

Thanks for the warning.

(Perhaps directed @ Rogue here??)
Will there be an updated IOquake 3 or something, whereby the gameplay is faster?

@All or Rogue is it?
My OWB doesnt allow me to login into facebook or other similar type of website?? When will this be fixed? And the downloading of items would also be appreciated.

Cheers.

Sounds like it isn't installed properly!

It could be the RWED protection bits aren't set right. Does the E bit show up in the Info window?

Apart from that did you try my method of installing? You didn't say.

Well try downloading the files again from http://www.amigaamp.de/ or use the ones you already have and reinstall it. Make sure OS4 is the only decoding engine.

Look here also:

What version? I used 3.3 with facebook and it was fine. Download the latest and try try that. OWB 2 doesn't work with carsales.com.au but now I can run OWB 3.3 which works! Now my dad can look at cars again.

@Hypex

I am using the latest update of OWB yes, the one that AmiUpdate had updated.

My problem now is, the fact that the original OWB that came with os4.1, already worked to lok at facebook ad all that, but it was just way too memory hungry and slow.

ImageFX
Sorry to say but your method for me did not do jack shet. Again, I apologise

Fuk me pink, again. You know how many times I have downloaded amiga amp and done this, this is probably the only program that is causing e the most grief in re installation, although, Image Fx will take over the CROWN soon.

Anyway, thank you for your trying assistance, bu unfortunately, none f your methods have worked for the designated program Image FX.

As for OWB, well, maybe you can show me via a pm? I find it hard to believe that yours works, and mine doesnt?

@Swoop

Well, managed to paste the url, via the url open tab in tunenet, but, nothing played, then I double clicked on RauteMusik station, and it played.

Could it be that it did not find the station?

Or must I do more?
By the way, thank you so much snoop for your initial help with a few things already. Appreciated.

@All

Appreciated all the help thathas been given in my novice months.

@TiredofLife

I got my TuneNEt working satisfactorily for now. Most of the stations I just double click, then after 30 seconds or less they play.

The copy of a weblink radio does however not work as yet for me.

But right now, I am cheesed that my OWB 3.3 does not allow me to use facebook, and yet the original OWB that came with my os4.1 cd for sam, worked fine with facebook. It also allowed me to download, whereas 3.3 does not.

Cheers mate

That's still not right.
Tunenet stations should take about two seconds to load.
That link works for me also, just do what Swoop advised.

I don't have a facebook account but was under the impression it did work with 3.3.

Downloading should be possible in a few months time.

@TiredofLife & @All

I have gotton OWB 3.3 to work with dfacebook and the like. So hopefully I will be able to do my ebay selling now on my amiga OS instead of Linux.

More good news, I have found potentially more good software for me to use in the audio department tonight.

Bad News, I did yet again, not get time to work on my own and colleagues pages for the net, this now means, I have not effectively worked on the net site for over a week, and this will show a delay in when the pages will become online now.

Not to worry, we will continue.

I am also wanting to know, If exodus works on os4?? For example, I went through a list of companies, etc, etc, and somewhere tonight I had found a polish website I think it was, and it said something about os4. So, is this something meaning to download a patch to have exodus working, if so, i will download the exodus demo and try it.

WET is a nice little program, and I hope if the developer of it reads these pages, knows, I care about it, ad would love to see it grow, so one can have todays and tomorows forecasting.

Thank you.

A little bit of searching can go a long way. Check this thread on ImageFX! You are not alone!

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=15935&forum=14

Also see here. You could try these:

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=search&tool=simple&f_fields=imagefx

And:

Hmmm, so you care about it, want to kiss and caress it. Don't get wet over it! Hehe.

@Hypex

I already knew about both of these before writing about my image fx problems on here.

No, those .lha downloads did not help me from os4depot, as I seem to have a different problem.

Also to note, they were using os4 and a1 type hardware, not os4.1 with sam440ep hardware, which is like comparing apples and oranges, due to the structure of the cores being so different.

Anyway, Glad you could'nt help me at this point.

OWB works fine now, managed to repair the bad upgraded version I had, by re-installing everything.

Cheers.

Oh, by the way, I already have it installed, it just is not running, and does not wish to run after pushing Ignore DSI error, which is to do with imagefx.

I will look into this though, and re read the other thread, posted in 2005, repeat (2005) when sam440ep hardware was not available.
