I set up a file based repository using this port as described by the book but it did not work for me at all (even crashed severly). Used AOS4.

Are you accessing it via file: protocol?, if so it should work, you do not svnserve for a local repository. I use svn for my local svn repo for sketchblock, aorganiser, and AWeb, with no issues so far.

Git clone:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cdyoung/tmp/git2.lha

git2 clone git://github.com/chris-y/git2 git

It's pretty slow because it hammers the hard drive. I haven't tried it on RAM: but it seems to be quicker on JXFS than SFS.

There are other commands but I can't vouch for their usefulness or if they even work.

@Chris_Y

As long as ADD, PULL, PUSH, COMMIT, CLONE, CHECKOUT works then it should be fine.

@NutsAboutAmiga

That might be a bit difficult, considering none of those are implemented yet (except checkout, but I don't know if that works)

The source code's there, feel free to add.

Any update on git for AmigaOS?

Now that I have my XE plugged in again, I'd like to be able to git with it.
