Streaming/playback from shoutcast playlists works Dropping a playlist drawer on the AA window caused a DSI None of the GUI buttons work here except for Close and Depth gadget (the GUI anims work though, like timer, and levels)
I can open the playlist from the menu but since the GUI doesn't react I can't open the EQ to test it.
I tried changing the prefs to make it open the EQ automatically but that doesn't work, it ignores the settings when I press Use.

Someone mentioned a DSI on amigans.net. Perhaps they can confirm if this was the cause.

Ditto. But, in my case, that's how it should be. It still uses your prefs that you've saved in a previous version. Mine lock the placement of the windows and movement, etc.

Hmm...then maybe it accepts pref from earlier use, but constructing new prefs with Deniil's GUI is not behaving as before?
sndfile.library not required anymore in this version. What follows might be related to a difference in using sndfile.library vs how the equalizer now incorporates those elements.
One new thing with the equalizer is .flac. A few of us compared a file in both .mp3 and .flac format in the current version.
We concluded that if you compare both with the same settings/levels that the output is entirely different. Although .mp3 and .flac should sound different, of course, this seemed clearly along the lines of hiss/distortion. By clicking on "presets" to change settings back to default, some of this obviously cleared up. As to any simple answer? Dunno. One might have to use/save setting that represent a compromise between those best for .mp3 and those best for .flac.
Still looking at .wav. One person noticed a similar distortion in .wav by using his former equalizer settings. But in both cases, I see this more of a matter of equalizer compromise. The things I'm not understanding is why the user said the same settings for the same .wav file were perfect using the former version of AmigaAmp and sndfile.library.
Perhaps it is the following, but I'll let the audio experts answer this one:
Quote:
During AIFF, WAV and FLAC playback it is using a separate FFT routine for theAnalyzer and an IIR multi bandpass filter for the Equalizer. |

I have reported a few issues too with the scrolling frame rate ("resolution") and reload after prefs caused havoc and crash, etc... There are a few quirks but I supposed it is easy to fix. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

Another very minor difference I noted. Previously, if you were engaged in playback and loaded a new file, the new file would start playback automatically. Now, it loads the new file, halts playback of the old, and waits for a keypress to institute play.
Readme from prior version mentioned a race condition (which I saw). Is this change above related to that?

Well, I don't see the title scrolling during playback at all. So that's different too.
Edit (added):Guess what? Starting a different .mp3 it does scroll. So scrolling depends on some difference in the .mp3 file?
Or did you refer to something different?

I've been doing some more testing and so far...
Dropping files on the playlist doesn't cause a DSI with the latest OS4.1 beta. EDIT: Ok, I was wrong, dropping DRAWERS on the filelist causes a dsi, dropping individual files does not.
All buttons in the GUI work properly (are you guys with problems using a skin?)
The only lockup I got was trying to open the skins menu while it was possibly still rescanning.
The only other problem is the distortion when using the equaliser while playing a .flac

Thanks for the confirmations.

I worded this a bit differently, but yes, something is going on here with .flac. But .flac support is new, so not entirely unexpected.
