Just wanted to let you all know Neil Cafferkey has fixed a minor endian issue relating to broadcast frames that was causing issues in conjunction with a small amount of routers.

The device driver now fully works with any supported card (flashed to the right firmware) and connected to any router broadcasting 802.11b (whether b alone or a/b/g/n), in Unsecured, WEP 64/128bit ASCII/HEX, WPA-PSK TKIP/AES or WPA2-PSK TKIP/AES, hidden SSID or not.

The incoming data bug that existed when connected to some models of router has been fixed.

Best and most stable firmware to use is 1.7.4 ( http://linux.junsun.net/intersil-prism/ ). Read site to make sure you flash to the right firmware type for your card.

I can't see any slowdown (due to encryption) on my Sam440ep-flex.

@MickJT

Awesome news. Very cool and useful. However, the price is alittle high considering all the configuring and firmware flashing from a user perspective.

@realize

Everyone is different. I don't have a problem paying 15 EUR (20 AUD) for something I know i'll be using.

@MickJT

YEah, $20 isnt bad and having the WPA2 is awesome (one reason why I wired my 1200 because I didnt want to run WEP and be vulnerable) but still seems like beta.. is there a complete installer easy to use?

@realize

It does have an installer, and .guide

If you want to use a hidden SSID, you just need to set scan_ssid=1 in the config. It's a port of wpa_supplicant and very well documented.
