Not sure if this has already been published

According to Hans, version 0.53 is now fully ready for 3D support to be added by Hyperion Entertainment...

@ddni

It was mentioned briefly in Trevor's 6th of August blog and there was a screenshot from the demo that's been linked here.

It was mentioned years ago that they had decided to drop Nova for something more standard.

Whats the difference in processing power between a 4000 and a 7000 series GPU?

100 times, before OpenCL self modyfying copper, blitter style techniques are used?

I wonder how long it will be before the images contain their own manipulable functions, textures containing random variations are actually caused by embeded code and such? 8)

Is there any development happening towards getting audio support for Radeons with HDMI port?
(it would also negate the need of additional audio HW, 8ch 88khz 24bit audio would be ok for me at least...)

It would be nice if some Amiga dealer started to sell tested PCI-to-PCIe and RadeonHD card combinations for SAM440 (mini and flex) owners.

@KimmoK

One problem with the combo is that It may work ok but not fit in some cases.
You need a full size case.
There are PCI Radeon HD5450 and Radeon HD4350 models which should work for those with smaller cases .

for the time being you can roll your own solution as needed . I started a thread about it and a couple of Amigans have tried it successfully.

Edit:
One of the PCI HD5450 Models available

Is it not the case though that these cards merely pass the audio through to HDMI, and you need an internal digital jumper cable from your sound card to the graphics card? In that case, you're only gonna get whatever the sound card can produce. That was the case in a couple of high-end machines I've seen recently, can't remember which graphics card they had though...

@Rob

The compared test is on a x86 PC.

Do you really think, the HD7000 series so much faster than the HD4000 series on an amigaos 4.1 computer? Only very few features of the HD Radeon cards are supported so tha amiga os 4.1 doesnt benefit from the more raw power. i am really sure the best solution for the near future WITH 3D support will be the HD5450, because of the fanless cooling, low power consumption, the big vram and for amigaos 4.1 an "incredible" 3D performance. Why do everybody mean amigaos 4.1 will benefit from an expensive and loud windows gaming gfx card?

Here are the results from running GfxBench2D

Dunno if it's good or bad?

RodTerl didn't ask for OS4.x scores and non exist anyway. He just asked the difference in GPU performance between 4000 and 7000 series cards so I linked a comparison between the flagship models.

I didn't make any suggestions what performance we could expect from the cards in OS4.x.

Most people are sticking to Radeon HD4650 or similar level cards which are fairly inexpensive. Personally I have HD4890 which didn't cost the earth. We won't know whether or not it's overkill, compared to a 5450, until we Gallium 3D and some more modern games and apps. I certainly wouldn't recommend a card costing hundreds as being ideal.
