Around 2008 it was the time of easy ports? Interesting how 2011 there has been so much less new SW but continuous work with updating SW.
Does show nicely that the developer community has not grown much during the years?

It's at times like this a graph is required.

We are talking such a small amounts of new software, that even one coder can make big difference.
It is just like my old home town, one year it was most violent city on my coyntry, when compared crimes per citizen. Less than 10 000 habitans, it was just one gypsy who was spending "ultra vieolent" year. |

as for ports , not much to choose from IMO, atleast not managble ones as in support and updates although there is some interesting projects going on and i'd love to port them but it require time and inspiration aswell as support from the original team.
New stuff, now thats a hard one really as developer count is going down and it's market is slowly growing to a halt bar some really good ones.
I suggest that people start contacting old devs and try to inspire them to restart their projects etc.

I do like that the graph shows an increase from 2011->2012. I guess coming up with new software gets harder, and that ports are also getting harder. Guess the easy ports has been made. The hard one remains. _________________ I'm an antique. Don't light my fuse |

How about this http://zod.sourceforge.net/
Amiga port was originally announced by Clickboom 2002. There is already Aros version, PPC port has some endian issues. |

I see a lot of intriguing stuff on amigabounty.net, under "Suggested". Don't know what it takes to get from there to "Unassigned", but some of them really would make sense. _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean. |

We need more developers period.. and that requires cost effective available systems. A virtual environment for mainstream systems if the future plan is to stick to obscure platforms ?

Developers like to be involved in projects that don't involve reinventing wheels. |
