Hi,

As I'm getting ready to order the second and final batch of the full set of Amiga keys I designed for the X500 Evo case I thought this would be the only good opportunity to squeeze a few extra sets in for those who want just the full set of keys for their mechanical keyboards and consequently keep the cost down.

Photos and compatibility with mechanical keyboards are throughout this thread:

Mechanical keyboard for the X500 Evo

If interested email me:

amigarulez@hotmail.com

with your choice of colour: all black or white and light beige, choice of colour Boing Ball/MOS butterfly or not, your name, language layout and full delivery address with a phone number for the courier.

Full set of Amiga keys for mechanical keyboards: £42 (GBP) + delivery (delivery shouldn't be much, they are very light).

No moaning accepted as they are well below production cost and I'm also absorbing tax and postage to me on all of them.

Please let me know as soon as possible as I'm intending to order them soon.

Thank you.

I'm going to bump this up so it's visible for a few days.
This should give everyone a chance to read it.

@TheDaddy

Would these help to solve the sticky key problem? I had that develope on some old Amiga keyboards years ago.

I don't use those old keyboards any more, but I was just wondering.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

@Moxee

I don't know anything about the sticky problem sorry.

I just designed the keys for a mechanical keyboard.

Sorry I can't help more.

No problem. I was just curious in case I decide to gift my OS3 machines to someone. Door prize at AmiWest?

One of these days I just have to down size all of my gear. I've kept every piece of software and hardware since the beginning.

@Moxee

No, these new key caps won't fit any of your old Amiga keyboards (AFAIK). They fit brand new mechanical keyboards that use the "Cherry" brand key switches, which are very nice keyboards. If I were not so short on money this month, I would order 2 sets of key caps and then buy the keyboards they fit onto later, then use these new keyboards with my AmigaOne X1000 running AmigaOS4.x, and my PowerMac G5, running MorphOS3.x.

I love the feel of mechanical keyboards, and the click they usually give you as feedback that the key press has been completed. Most new keyboards made recently are crap by comparison.

As for donating old Amiga gear at AmiWest some day, I am in the same boat as you. I have almost all of my Amiga collection from day one, way back in 1987, when I purchased my first A1000. I have sold a few A3000's and given an expanded A500 system to my Grandson, but other than that, I still have the rest of my huge Amiga collection.

I need to move this year, so I have to get rid of many of those systems, or pack them all up and put them into storage.

Hope to see you at this year's AmiWest Show Moxee.

Hi,

I just want to ask if you got my order in time or if it was lost in >NIL:? Didn't get any confirmation, but I don't know if that is normal. :)

Best,

Johan, Sweden

Gad, this shows how much I know. I thought we started out with mechanical keyboards.

That will all depend on if there is another early snow fall in the Cascades like in October 2013. I've reached the age where I don't want to deal with winter driving any more. I've asked the club if they can move AmiWest back 30 days to late September, when there is hardly a chance of snow on my route, but never got a response. I don't think they discussed it.

I don't want to take a plane out of here because it requires a terrible long layover in Seattle. I can't take a train because someone would have to drive me to the Amtrak station 80 miles south of here and of course return to pick me up. Even if someone would do that there is an excessive layover in Portland, Oregon waiting for the south bound Coast Starlight to Sacramento.

We use to have good airline connections out of here, but Delta left town and Alaska/Horizon cut flights down to only Seattle connections. Back in the 1970s Northern Pacific RR use to come right through here with a station 6 miles away. Then Amtrak was born and service was diverted to 80 miles south.

Sigh....
