Since September 2013 I am publishing a magazine together with some friends from amigaplanet.gr Greek Amiga site.

The mag is called Retro Planet and it is focused on Amiga, retro computers and consoles.

It comes out every three months, that means four issues a year.
It consists of 52 pro printed color pages.
It is written in Greek language.

We have been aware of some requests for an edition in English language.
We have talked about it but we need some more opinions from possible future readers.

So we are thinking of two scenarios:

A. To produce every issue in English language as well.
B. To produce a special edition issue in English as our fifth issue per year including selected transilated articles plus many many exclusives. A gift like CD or coverdisk could be an option.


In both cases the question is plain and simple:

Would you buy an English edition of RETRO PLANET magazine?

A final price for such a product would be arround 10 euros including worldwide postage. Perhaps a little cheaper or more expensive depending on the country you live.

If you want you can answer to this sub question as well:

Would you be interested for the cheaper option of digital downloading?

Option B, digitally downloadable.

(I'm a subscriber of AmigaFuture and it pretty nicely fills my needs, so if I buy another, it must be cheap(er).)

I would surely go for option B, printed on paper. Digital versions are nice, but I like to hold my magazines with my hands.

10Eu looks very fair to me for such a dedicated product.

I would like both. i don't really read digital pdf mags. but reads printed mags 10 times or more. just feels right. and i also like if it comes with cd.. just like the old times.

I would be interested in a printed Option A in English.

As others have said, I prefer to hold the reading material in my hands. I also like to outline things of interest and make notes in the margins.

Perhaps first make one whole numebr in english in PDF format.

For without knowing the quality of writing etc. It is hard to say wether i would be interested in buying it on regular basis or not.

Basically I would be interested in a (paper) magazine like that, either yearly or even monthly, but it really comes down to wether articles and writing is as interesting as the cover looks.

I bought one issue of Retrogamer magazine to my iPhone, but I havent read it since it was too terrible reading it from iPhone, would need at least a pad to be able to actually read it.

However, If i would see retrogamer magazine on some magazine shelf, I would probably buy it. However, not having been able to read a single magazine of it yet, I cant once again comment wether I would be interested in subscription to it.

The issue is, "Would I buy a magazine without the ability to know how well it is written and whether the topics were of interest to me, sight unseen?" My answer is, "No." Given the chance to read at least several articles from the magazine before purchase, then the answer is, "Maybe."

This is a good idea! You can read it on your screen or print it out as I would. It would let prospective readers make an informed decision about subscribing or not.
