I dl'ed 2.6 from OS4depot and will take a look again at the video from Amiwest of you demonstrating it.
But as I understood it is mainly a painting program not an imageprocessing program, right ?
Thanks anyway, Ill check it out.

That was it's original bias, but it's got many image processing functions, and is aquiring more by the day.
Recently added Unsharp Mask, Gaussian Blur and Bilateral Filter.

Image FX 4.5 works fine in OS4.1. I used to make some of my WB Themes.
|
It does work very well with on a couple of less used tools to avoid in case they crash.
BTW SketchBlock can share imagwe buffers with ImageFX via the Magic Server.
Start the server in the imagefx archive, start sketchblock, then choose the Buffer OpenMagic option in ImageFX Hey presto, paint in one apply effect in the other. Some limitations, scaling shared bvuffers won't work and sharing alpha chanelle doesn't work.

And yes, have some PPC loaders.

my aifxjpegload on os4depot speeds up jpeg loading conserably, and more importantly improves handling of modern JPEG variants.

Yes, but how about that powerstation ?
|
No power station does not work , it uses powerup we have support for warpup but not powerup.
TBH 68k code running on a SAM-Flex will faster than powwerup code running on the original machine it was written for, so you aren't losing much.

My apologies for not popping in sooner. If you use the ifx45install from OS4depot, it will only install hooks, loaders, savers, and effects that are compatible with OS4.x. 680x0 Compatible does not mean slow. When I was making my Little Saucer that Could animation, the rendering of the clouds and lightning was lightning quick. The only PPC native module that works on OS4.x is Andy Broad's own JPEG loader, which I included in the installer. _________________ I sold my SAM460ex lite... waiting for money to buy a Raspberry Pi... or a Classic A1000 with Buffee... or an A1222... and OS4.3 FE update 11 |

That takes me back, that shot is about a decade old. That image is a screenshot of what could have been a new version of ImageFX..
Kermit designed the GUI for a new ImageFX. We got the designs and put it on code, it was mostly a project to make and test the GUI code .. so there weren't all of the ImageFX functions in it. Just calls to our own library of functions to perform operations on pictures. As we did not have any code of the original ImageFX.
But guess what .. the code ran on 68k Amiga, PPC Amiga, Windows, Mac and Linux. Click the pevious links above the picture, and you will see half a dozen of operating systems.
Well .. i guess we did have some ImageFX code, as we wrote stuff like the ImageFX Fireworks plugins.

Ok, thats nice
Since ImageFX is now owned by Aeon, would it be a good idea to contact them and perhaps talk about this ? (the Gui, and other stuff you've done back then)
Cheers

Nice. Do you think it could be usefull to new imagefx developers ? Could you contact aeon about it ? Perhaps it could find a second life this way And who knows... you might get some income out of it

| Could it be that someone here is mixing up ImageFx with SView (SuperView) by Andreas Kleinert? It is kind if similar type of program, and had PPC versions. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Android .. really.
http://apsdev.com/android/ifx1.jpg http://apsdev.com/android/ifx2.jpg http://apsdev.com/android/ifx3.jpg
The mockup had some new features, like drag and drop commands to the picture you where editing. Which now in android is actually pretty cool.
But you have to realize that this is just some of the ideas that Kermit had about the GUI of a new ImageFX turned into code. It is not like Kermit put the full spec of a new ImageFX onto paper. Which means that there are some details in there that i dont know from what they are supposed to do. I don't know the current status of Kermits spec, if he still knows the details or drew up more.
What we did is make a framework and library programmed in C, with a dynamic GUI engine that compiles and runs on and for a number of platforms. Added GUI elements that are needed for the ImageFX spec, and programmed the GUI so that operating the GUI called a lot of the functions in the graphics library. So its a lot of code .. but the main function is tiny. Also the actual GUI is defined in a text file, which means it can be changed easily. Bits can be moved or swapped. So its basically a big library or toolkit to make an app that runs on several platforms including all of the Amigas. Is it usefull ? Sure..

| @Lazlo_Hollyfeld,
AFAIK, A_Eon only has license for Amiga ports of I mage FX. Some work may be required to separate the two.

I think you're mixing that up with fxPaint - this one had PPC support. _________________ The Rear Window blog
