Very cool new tool landed on Aminet this morning and I've already tested it out. Very nice:

I tried it under AOS4.1FE and after typing google: in a shell, I got the google folder on my WB but it is empty. How do I access my existing documents on GD ?
Nice tool BTW !

@lionstorm

Did you log into your google account and get the code and copy it to the file called: _client_code under the Devs:Google/ drawer?

I had to very carefully retype the long string, visually. I copied it from the webpage on the Windows side and pasted it to notepad to get the courier fixed width font so I could distinguish a capital "i" from a lower case "L".

I also had to restart after setting everything up.

Oh, and you have to right click the new window and choose View->All files because you'll most likely not have Amiga icon/info files for each file in there.

@themamboman

yes I did select the "show all files" in the WB google window!

I tried also on the pc side and got another code and I have the same lock issue as Liveforit.

The google folder on the WB is empty BUT under DOPUS4, I can see my files and even open them so it is really cool.
I tried to copy and there is at first a message asking you for the format and after you select the one you want, comes the request that you have to be registered to get this feature. Well fait enough !

did you tried the import fonction and tested some of the filetype (pdf, txt, etc) ? I am curious to know where the conversion works because my files are either text-based or spreadsheet-based.

@Kicko
People say a lot of things, but the author doesn't have an OS4 machine, and until that changes there won't be a native OS4 version. You can ask him directly, he'll tell you the same.

@bszili
Were you involved to the MOS version? If yes, can you help for the AmigaOS 4 version?

@walkero

I was only providing some libraries, and technical support with the compilers. Beyond that, I wasn't involved in coding the actual handler. The author has a PowerBook to run MOS, hence the native port.

Yes, indeed!
And best of all - Drop Box Support is planned for this month:

Norbert Kett, chief programmer at chief programmer at 4Flash, has released an Google Drive Handler for AmigaOS 3.x.

"Google Drive Handler" for AmigaOS 3.x is a Dos handler, allowing easy access to your Google Drive storage (Gmail account required).

Support for "Drop Box" and "Google Cloud Print" is planned as well:
"Drop Box Handler" is under development. While a Gmail address is required for Google Drive, this will be a bit different for Drop Box later on. Norbert Kett's intention is to release the "Drop Box Handler" next month (= February).
"Google Cloud Print" will be an easy printing solution for Amiga. You can print documents with drag&drop, and no printer driver is required. This is sort of network printing - only Google offers this printing support at the moment.

"Google Drive Handler" for AmigaOS 3.x is based on
libCurl v7.37.1 and
OpenSSL v0.9.8zh (ported by BSzili). This version of OpenSSL contains all security patches until December 3rd, 2015, but only supports TLS 1.0.
OpenSSL v1.0.2e (also ported by BSzili and included in this distribution) is the latest, fully featured SSL library, but requires a fast 68k machine (68040+).

Without licence key, the handler acts as a read only volume, and document exporting is disabled. To obtain the licence key, please contact Norbert Kett using this email address: anchor@rocketmail.com. Once you obtained a licence you will get full access to all his upcoming handlers. The cost of the license is 10 EUR. With one licence, you can use all his upcoming "REST API based products" on all Amiga like platforms without limitation.

"REST API" is an industry standard for app < - > server communication. It is getting more popular. Some services for example:
Google Drive, Google Cloud Printing, DropBox, Microsoft One-Drive, Amazon Cloud, PayPal, Twitter, FaceBook, and many others.

It may also work on AROS Vision, and on MorphOS too. However, it has not been fully tested yet on these platforms (MorphOS will get a native version separately).

Only porting to OS4 is problematic, since Norbert Kett currently has no hardware to run OS4 and test the handler with.
An OS4 emulation is not enough - a real machine is required. Norbert tried to port it to OS4 in UAE, but when he tried the handler on a real Amiga with OS4, some issues arose that weren't perceivable on the emulated machine.

So everybody wanting OS4 ports of this software should seriously consider to support him with OS4 capable hardware - at least as a loan!

EDIT:
Tried to change font size and colour of the last sentence above, but it doesn't work...
