| Hello,
What do you think about this kind of capacitor to Amiga's recap?
Regards.

Some are this type but you need to check the values (there are lists somewhere or you can note them from your board). There are also surface mount type capacitors too, quite a lot in fact. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

I don't think the make will make a difference, just the capacitance in pf and the voltage handling. Unless you are suggesting certain brands are best? _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

Simple answer yes, search Google for 'capacitor brands to avoid' there are pages and pages of stories of bad and poor quality electrolytic capacitors.
Most problems with capacitors happen in power circuits, PSU's etc, and should not be so much of a issue in the audio circuits of a A1200. However given the choice I would stick to a good quality Japanese brand and 105C rated, it should last a lot longer with less risk of leaking.
From the second picture it looks as though this is a ltec branded cap, http://www.tomshardware.com/ do not rate these very high on the list of good brands, I have no doubt that it will work but why take the risk.
