Is there any way to format a compact flash card (plugged into the PCMCIA) slot directly on an A1200? I know that it is typical to first format it on a MAC/PC with a FAT 32 file system, but I got to wondering that since the Amiga supports PC stuff via the CrossDOSFileSystem that it may be possible. There are occasions when I just want to put some new stuff on the compact flash card, and I don't care what is currently on it, and being able to do a quick format on the Amiga would be much quick than either doing a "delete CF0:#? all" or moving the compact flash card to another machine and back. Any ideas? Thanks.

@Ned

There is no reason why you should not be able to quick-format a CF card mounted as CF0.

In a shell: format drive cf0: name something noicons quick

Or from Workbench by selecting the icon and choosing "format disk" from the menu.

@thomas

I don't know why I didn't think of that and give it a try. It worked like a charm. Thanks.
