My Amigas have really f me off. One has dodgy gfx and booting issues. The one that was working has now lost sound. if I turn my amp up full I can just about hear it. Guess I be looking for a cheap a1200 on ebay or if anyone has one for a good price let me know. Nobody local to me to get it repaired.

Half Amiga I have got the one with iffy gfx working. Booting issue was user error trying to boot a OS3.9 2.5" ide hard drive with 3.0 roms installed doh. Changed them for the one's from the Amiga with no sound so now I have sound but have faint lines down the screen I'm using a rgb adapter on a Benq monitor.

Recap them. One of my 1200s (my beloved, the one I bought in 1993 or so) has dodgy sound that crackles and is quiet. I'm 100% certain it would be fixed by recapping. I seem to remember reading that the caps in the 1200 are especially prone to failing.
@g01df1sh Rule 1. Consider any electrolytic caps in regularly used equipment dead after 15 years old and replace them. Especially true in hot power supplys.
Rule 2. Re-read Rule 1. :)
The exception being those really large ones in power supplies, they can last twice as long.
