For those who remember around the end of Summer I was working on a set of PNG icons which used photographic images. This had it's good points and bad points, and at one time, I had almost decided I wouldn't even release them, because there were already so many professional icon sets available.

Well, I decided a couple of days ago to finish them up and give em to you guys who originally said that you liked them. I had intended to get them up yesterday for Christmas, but I missed the mark.

They are, as anything else, not for everyone. If you are not a fan of PNG icons, these will not likely change your mind. There are 142 icons in the set and they are all available in 64X64 and 45X45 pixel size. I was already almost finished with the 45X45 one's when I realized that it was suppose to be 48X48, but they are close enough to look the same size as normal icons. The 64X64 one's will work better on systems with a higher resolution, or for those who hate to squint trying to figure out what that tiny little icon represents. The preview below was taken before I made some of the recommended changes to the set, but these give you an idea.

Full preview here

Download the set from OS4 Depot:

@Herewegoagain

Really excellent!

Another thing on my list of things to install once I get back home. Classy!

Well, they are for me, that's for sure.

I'm with Mikey_C though, I'm not too crazy about the drawers. So I'll stick with the crystal folders (boo, hiss, heresy )...but the rest of them I'm sure'll blend in nicely on my system.

@Herewegoagain

I like a majority of them. They are different yet quite elegant.

Nice job! I am sure many people will appreciate the work you have put into them.

@Herewegoagain

I really like that photo-real style of icons. It would be nice to have a few different options for icon types included with OS4.0 in a contributions drawer.

@all

Thanks for the input, and compliments. It would be nice to see some screenshots with them in place on your system, simply to see how they fit with other mixed style icons.

Here is another shot showing some of the newer icons that were added. I think they looked better on a lighter backdrop.

They do look quite sweet, not a great fan of the drawers either i'm affraid.

Will download the set when I get to my A1 and explore. WIll probably use quite a number.

Working on some icons of my own atm but they're not as good as yours!

@giga

Cool... are your's PNG or Glow icons? How about a sneak peek?

About the drawers, they are something that you either like or not. It took me a short while, but once I got use to them, I really like them. But that's the good thing about having such a variety of collections available. You can use what you like from each set to make your Workbench look the way you want it to look.

in case anyone wants a few unusual png icons here are my

butterflys (picture) and the files themselves.

I want to make more organic type icons - just so there is something else besides pics of machinery and chips and stuff.

That's not a bad idea. I could see it going well as a theme with some of the natural backdrops like the "fern forrest" or the "mushroom mound" already available in the backdrops section of AW.net
