software OS4   software OS4 : LoView Suite 2.50 released!
posted by Tuxedo on 16-May-2012 19:05:52 (1245 reads)
Hi ALL!
Finally after some months of hard work LoView Suite 2.50 was released! The biggest news in that version was:

- Edit window greately extended and improved!
- Video Support (Still in beta stage but rather enjoyable).
- an iBatch mode to integrate LoViewThumb with that nice tool!
- extended prefs with new ones
- batch resize of selected pics(LoViewThumb).
- bugfixes and more...

Any feedback was, as usual, REALLY appreciated!

ATM only OS4(you can found it in the OS4Depot upload queue)version was relased, more to come strictly...

Awesome, Tuxedo! I'll give this new LoView a whirl later this evening and also try to get a handle on how it works with Gero's iBatch.

Looks cool :)

About the FX window. It would be nice if we dont have to click "x" for apply action every time we want to see another one. Would be better if we just could test next one without having to apply the x button. Would be a timesaver. Like now i check the greyscale image, then i have to press x, then choose invert colours, then x.... etc etc.

About the thumb viewer, i choose a dir it asks me for and then i get an error requester (hollywoodplayer).

Rexx interpreter returned an error! (10/5)
File: LoViewTM.hws (current line: 953 - In function: SendRexxCommand)

I just choosed a directory called "sommer 2009". It has my summer pictures inside.
The same happens if i choose "load pictures" and after i select them i get same error requester.

Im running OS4.1.5 on X1000.

Im using picshow+thumbview but your app is getting better and better so i feel like a switch soon :)

Thanks a lot. For sure the best image viewer for AROS. I tried the video plugin. Works pretty ok for first version.

Found the culprit. A jpeg file called "Alec's Lea.jpg".
If i remove the ' sign in the filename and call it "Alecs Lea.jpg" then it works. Picshow dont have problems with the ' sign.

That was because I use ARexx to send files from thumber to viewer so the ' sign contrast with ARexx syntax...

I've to parse the filenames to avoid that...

Adding in To-do for next release :)

Hope that not so much files have that ' in the name...

I tested on X1000 today... works great and a lot more speedy as on my SAM440, I'll post exact benchmarks later. However, qualitiy of 340px thumbnails are really bad, whereas iBatch creates much better quality thumbnails (well, question is, wether you consider 340px still as thumbnail). Even though iBatch is 68k, it is as fast as your OS4 native App. However, I'll post details later...
