Software News   Software News : WarpSNES Release (official)
   posted by Olle on 9-Feb-2005 20:32:16 (4194 reads)
Finally the official release of WarpSNES is here.

Another update will be made once Gamepads are supported.

Most important change since the unofficial release is that it
now saves the batterybackup correctly. (Specially dedicated to Ikir )

Share and enjoy!

Oh, and the link is here: WarpSNES

Nice! But are there a non-png-icon available?

I haven't checked very closely but it seems like it's a PNG-icon wich means that if you don't have powericons installed you won't have an icon.

A fix for this, please?

Good work!

@Hotrod
I couldn´t find a good icon easily, so i just took my default .png one, however
most ppl will change to a good looking icon anyway, so i guess it is not such
a big issue.

@Shoe
Yeah, forgot that. However the link to os4depot.net should make most
people understand that it is for OS4.

Ok, updated the file on os4depot.net however it will probably take
some hours before it gets activated still.

Thanks to Restore2003 for making the nice banner, and Toaks for being the pimp.

Here is a screenshot:

No, but adding XAD support would be nice. It's little annoying having to unpack a game to RAM and run then find how crappy it is compared to the Amiga version :)
AmiMasterGear for example have XAD support and you just click on lhaed,zipped, gzipped or non compressed ROM and it's extracted automatically.

Yes, please do. I think the WarpOS version supported gzip at some point, didn't it?

By the way, how did you use that logo??

(i know it doesn´t look good with tweaked os4 gui)

Anyway expect a fixed archive later on tonight or tomorrow.

Olle: Can you send me the current source-code ? I could work in the gzip-support again, if you want...

Hmmm, I don't seem to be able to load a snapshot file... when I try, I get a complaint "not in snes9x format". The snapshot files are 20 bytes... Are there any instructions anywhere? Maybe I'm using the wrong keys (F3=save, F2=load).

The logo: I had the older version of the program, that's why I couldn't see it apparently...
