Announcement   Announcement : Presentation of ALINEA Computer in public
posted by Convincer on 13-Nov-2005 23:10:49 (5867 reads)
Wehrheim, Germany, the 14th of november 2005.
Alinea Computer is proud of presenting itself as a new company for Amiga-Software. We are an enterprise which concentrates it's work mainly on the development and the distribution of AmigaOS4-applications and -games. Besides, we offer support services like CD-production, webdesign and dataprint.
The following Amiga-Software is now available:

ANotice 2 - a memo programme

ANotice 2 is a memo programme for your workbench. It will help you to manage your notes, dates, to-do-lists or other important information. You can easily and fast change the notice and export it into different text-formats.
ANotice 2 can manage up to 13 notes and each note can be designed individually with 13 different background and text- colors, 7 textures, different fonts and 4 text attributes.
Besides the large reaction-prefs which can controll all functions, ANotice 2 includes a network-function with client-server-programme, so that distributing a to-do-list in an enterprise can easily be done.
ANotice 2 was programmed as a commodity and runs totaly system friendly.
It operates on each Amiga with at least AmigaOS 4.0. You do not need any other libraries or additional programmes.

ANotice 2 is delivered by E-Mail and costs 5,95 Euro only.

AmiPhoto - a quick and comfortable photo-manager

AmiPhoto is a photo album for your digital photos and pictures. It's easy handling and attractive GUI will convince you. You can manage up to half a million pictures in 500 albums at the most. You can show the photos on the surface or by multiview. Because of a direct support of the Amiga OS4.0 datatype-system, it is possible to use all picture-formats which exist as datatype. AmiPhoto can further select and show the EXIF-dates of your digital photos.
For adapting perfectly on your workbench-skin, AmiPhotos uses it's own Bitmap-skin-system. The 17 skins you find on your CD will help you to style your AmiPhoto surface. You can certainly create your own skins. We would be proud to present your skin on our website.
AmiPhoto is programmed totaly system friendly. It supports the application library and does not need any additional libraries.

AmiPhoto is delivered an CD and costs just 19,95 Euro.

Freeware

The main ambition of Alinea Computer is to support the Amiga market. That's the reason why we will continue releasing programmes free of charge, so that the existing lack of Amiga-Software can be repaired. We hope you can use our software and we would be happy to hear some feedback concerning our products.

On our website: http://www.alinea-computer.de you'll find more information.

You can buy all our products in our Alinea-Shop. As a dealer, please address yourself via E-Mail.

We would be glad to welcome you as a new customer!

EXIF support in AmiPhoto should win it quite a few friends. The next camera I buy will have EXIF support.

Edit

It seems the Camera I own already has EXIF. I guess I never had reason to check before.

Just bought AmiPhoto, because oof the EXIF support.
I have a fujifilm camera, which comes with an exif viewer, which is very useful on the PC. i have wanted a photo viewer on my A1 for a while.

Hey! One less reason to use the wife's PC

Great stuff - nice to see so much support still around!

One question, though:

Why the restriction? Yes, it's quite a large limit - but still...

A couple of other thoughts, now that I've had more time to look through your website, screenshots etc.

Is it possible to edit any of the EXIF data?
Can the user change the size of the thumbnails which are displayed?
Can you add tags (i.e. keywords) to pictures?
Can AmiPhoto launch an external image editor, or perhaps use the image manipulation abilities of other applications (e.g. ImageFX) via Arexx? Much more sensible than building in a small subset of image manipulation tools like iPhoto has done...
Would it be possible to integrate something like the Flickr Uploadr? Perhaps as plug-ins (to allow for future changes to the Flickr API, or when other photo-sharing sites appear)?

> Is it possible to edit any of the EXIF data?
At the moment you don't have the possibility. Normally you don't need it. The only exception will be the "Comment"-field. If there is enought interest I will create an update with some features and this will be a part of it. If I don't publish an update this will be definitively a feature of the second version.

> Can the user change the size of the thumbnails which are displayed?
> Can you add tags (i.e. keywords) to pictures?

Sorry, but this both points aren't a feature of AmiPhoto. Sorry.

> Can AmiPhoto launch an external image editor...

Do you have IPhoto? ;) In the next version you will have some additional effects and features (greyscale, red eyes filter, histogram and much more). I also looked for ARexx Examples and I'm planning to use ArtEffect as edit programme. This will be deninitively a feature of AmiPhoto v2 and needs a complete new picture handling in AmiPhoto. I tested it already but I think that the next version won't be finish in the next 4 months. By the way every registered purchaser will get AmiPhoto v2 cheaper ;)

> Flickr support

This service sounds interesting. I will check it... Does I tell you that ANotice v2 will create HTML-galleries?

Hmmmm...I'm writing to much.

By the way if you wan't to have more features then I'll hope that you write me a mail.

Have a nice day,
Ricco Clemens

@Moxee

Basically, you use the EXIF data to tell you what did right for your good pictures and what you did wrong in your bad pictures.
The idea being that can then improve your skills and know what settings to use depending on the light conditions.
