Software News   Software News : TuneNet V0.78a Released
posted by Bean on 17-Apr-2006 0:24:16 (6110 reads)
The latest alpha version of TuneNet, the OS4 Music/Internet Radio Player, has
been submitted to the OS4 depot site (so it should be available shortly).

Main improvements include:
* Better playback preferences: Simple, X-Fade or Gapless playback.
* Encoder plugin support for Recording streams to different formats.
* Shoutcast Broadcasting (still rather basic, but functional - requires an
appropriate encoder).

* 3rd party plugin support for an array of sound formats including:
XM, S3M, IT, FC, AHX, TFMX and many more, in fact around 25 formats are now
supported - Thanks Per Johansson!
* Improvements to Reaction GUI.
* Tighter playback with less stuttering (hint adjust the playback priority).
* Repeat playlist, sub song support, auto/manual mix mode (for good headphone
listening for old 4 channel MODS etc..), Open URL requester..

..and much more.

NOTE: Older plugins will not work with this release, please download newer
ones.

The TuneNet site (http://www.tunenet.co.uk) will be updated tomorrow to
reflect the changes on OS4 depot along with full Source code for some of the
plugins (where required under license). A support email address for bug
reports/feature requests will also be set up in the next few days.

TuneNet is Freeware, and work-in-progress - Enjoy

Some Notes on the V0.78 release:

1/ Create the Disabled Plugins and Playlists drawers again. They are
just blank directories and only had an icon included (not the actual
dir structure).

2/ If you install an encoder you can no longer use the Record Simple
Stream option. This is a bug and will be fixed, but for the moment
just remove the encoder from the plugin dir and restart TuneNet.

3/ Only the AIFF and PT plugins are available from the main archive.

4/ Files are available here:

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=recent

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=audio/play/tunenet.lha
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=audio/play/tunemod-plug.lha
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=audio/play/tuneogg-plug.lha
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=audio/record/tunemp3_encode.lha

5/ TuneNet website will be updated later today.

Thanks,
Bean.

Hi Paul. Congratulations on the release.

I was gonna do a test transmission but BT has reassigned my ip AGAIN. Not in AwR white list !!

@ Techmage. We have been test broadcasting TuneNET on AmigaWorldRadio for the past fortnight.

Nice too see its growing :) I love the broadcast funktion but i haven't tested it yet. I dont know really how to use it. I read on shoutcast page and there is a need for a server, i use my IP and port 8000 with no password.
Do i need another server like on pc or is it enough with tunenet.
I have only my AmigaOne.

Need help :')

I see there is amidock plugin. Will there be a plugin for Amistart too ?
Im a amistart user and dont use amidock. Just checking.
Would be nice to use a small gui. Mostly i use ANR with my own gui which
is small.

I have a tiny question. How can I output a broadcast from an external source? In this case, audio coming from a pair of record decks & a mixer connected to the input of my sound card?

Also, Cheers Bean

FuZion.

Hi,
Thanks for the new release Unfortunately it doesn`t work for me.
It loads fine and I get a "scanning for stations" message but after a couple of minutes
this stops and the message is "error obtaining Station Listings"
Any idea why this isn`t working. My A1 is connected via a router is it a port problem?

Thanks

You can't yet. Sorry. But you will be able to in the next version (along with
another plugin).

ATM you can only broadcast what you play, regardless of the player format.

Cheers,
Bean.

You need to broadcast to an external server, or a local PC running a server.

I don't think there is a server for the Amiga at the moment. Though I'm sure
it wouldn't be too difficult for someone to port one.

Cheers,
Bean.

Yes, this relies on the shoutcast homepage/server and it appears to be playing
up a little today (typical!). Try again later.

Cheers,
Bean.

Well, Guess I'll download it and watch it fail on my Micro A1

Is it Mikey C proof?
