Hardware News   Hardware News : CPU Demo Delayed: Death of the Optimist
posted by ackcontrls on 10-Jun-2006 15:27:00 (15490 reads)
Due to time and resource constrainsts the CPU demo has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled at this time. There have been technical difficulties getting the CPU module to work with both the existing AmigaOne boards and the new TSi109 based design and I need time to analyze the issue. I will be available for questions in #Amigaworld on irc.amigaworld.net at 1500 hrs EDT. Apologies for those anxiously awaiting the demonstration.

Was this the one that had already had a scheduled demo cancelled or is this something else? What is this "CPU module" thingy? I'm losing track of the new cool Amiga hardware projects.

Bwahahahaahaha

As some say... What a crock.

rumours and failures to deliver are proving this to be on the par for Acks hardware.

@ackcontrls

Adam, thanks for the update. I hope you find a solution soon.

Sadly, the hyenas will arrive quickly to take advantage of the situation.

At the present time which one DOES it work on?
You could always demo it on the working M/B.

Good luck with the analysis and bug hunting, hope it gets sorted soon.

Cheers,
Tim

That's also what I found rather strange. When it's at least working on one mainboard, this wouldn't be a reason to cancel the demonstration.
Adam could have also shown some of his other projects, e.g. the TSI109-based board/schematics or the Powervixxen which was presumably already running Linux in 12/2004.

More inconsistencies.

You need to be more creative. Copy & paste from Moobunny doesn't quite cut it anymore...

If we all kepts our gobs shut until it was released then no one would ever talk again.

Knew it would happen and it will keep happening. Either something needs to happen real soon or the market is just going to keep getting smaller and smaller.

Really WAS hoping for AOS4 by christmas, now I doubt it even more unless there's a miracle on it's way. And unlike most people who post negative comments, I actually hope AOS4 DOES get released this year.

I think when he used the word both he meant that it worked with neither board, which begs the question. Do the original CPU modules work with the with Tsi109 based board?
Another question posed by the statement is that if they are at a stage where they are testing CPU modules and motherboards. Why dont they show us some photo's of some wire wraps or PCB's.

I'll try and stay open minded for the moment, but it would be nice to have some proof that this isn't just vapour ware.

By the time I arrived to read this thread, the feeding frenzy appears to have already started. So sad.
