Software News   Software News : Prerelease 2 of Amaya 8.8.5 for X-Window
   posted by CygnusEd on 22-Jun-2006 17:33:18 (2094 reads)
A new prerelease of the webeditor Amaya is now available on OS4-Depot.

New in this release:
* Internet-support is working now! Now it is possible to surf in the web!

* Latest version 8.8.5 of Amaya (look at http://www.w3.org/Amaya for new
features)

* Added WebDAV-support (untested)

* Removed most debug-output, so Amaya should be faster now

To install the package you need the X11-window-package "Cygnix", which
you can also find on OS4-Depot.

More informations under: OS4-Depot

Fantastic! It's great to see progress like this.

It is not quite quick enough for everyday use (and the lack of JS limits it
a bit), but I can use this for heavy CSS sites when they don't render
correctly under AWeb or IBrowse.

Any news on the native X11 server?

Cheers,
Bean.

@Bean

Hint: Look at the readme under "Known problems"
The server is working now, but it has problems to be connected from a remote
computer. Sometimes the server freezes. Local clients are working.

@walkero

Ooops ...... sorry

@CygnusEd,

Ah you mean:

From the readme:

Quote:

Test-versions of the bsdsocket.library and my native X11-server showed, that
it is possible to work with X11 with full speed .

Good news, I look forward to using it!

Bean.
