Issaquah, Wash USA – Gloucestershire, UK May 23, 2007 – Vulcan Software Limited and Amiga, Inc. are pleased to announce the launch and availability of Vulcan Software titles for Windows PC’s via the new Amiga Classic Game Player.

“The new Amiga offering makes playing these very fun titles simple. Just click and you are playing. It is great to be working with Amiga again, and our relationship will be growing into other areas as well”, said Paul Carrington President of Vulcan Software Limited

With the new Amiga Classic Game Player a customer need only to select the game they want to play, download it to their computer, install, click and play. It is seamless fun, and reminds everyone of why we started using computers for gaming to begin with.

Amiga will continue to offer new titles and other Amiga Classic offerings, from the 80’s through the 90’s, and will offer these great titles initially for the PC and then will begin to expand other devices.

“It has been great working with Paul at Vulcan and this is the first product that is available from our new relationship.” Said Bill McEwen, Amiga, Inc. “There are several other areas that Amiga and Vulcan are in discussions about, and we look forward on delivering new products and experiences for our customers very soon.”

Sounds like a (Win)UAE based system. Still, at that price I'm sure they'll find enough buyers. But it's not a release of OS4 on new hardware, which is what I'm waiting for.

That's the problem with these press releases. It isn't really clear what the product is, where you can find out more information about it or why it would be of interest.

AI desperately needs to get someone to do their marketing & communications.

For a few seconds I thought they might actually be announcing a half-decent AmigaAnywhere game/app (which would surprise me slightly)... But obviously "Amiga Classic Game Player" will just be a wrapper for WinUAE.

Which is a good way for AI to make some cash, but it doesn't actually take them anywhere.

It almost certainly is an emulator (winUAE?) bundled with a ROM-image and a game. Maybe it can be adapted to work with E-UAE as well.

It looks like AmigaInc finally has a product that might be usefull to some people. I won't be buying it, because I already have an Amiga emulator and a partition full of diskimages and stuff (like most people here).

Kind regards,

Dennis

Just like people have accused BBRV for doing..

Amiga Inc. got scared after the 99 USD EFIKA announcement
and they felt like they had release something, getting attention,
so innocent Amigans wouldn't fall victim for Genesi evil tactics..

There! Payback!

----

Like people have said - it's probably WinUAE. Interesting that it
had nothing at all to do with AmigaOS 4.0. And nothing to do with
AmigaAnywhere either.. Did they understand that everything was
a failure and the only real market could be UAE-games?

@Yssing

It isn't great... It's selling old games making some scripts and using WinUAE...

What they should do is what Nintendo did with their Wii... Sell new Amiga hardware with AOS 4.0 (please let Hyperion continue developing it) and make it possible for people to download old amiga-games to AOS 4 and play them. For Amiga-users only. But then they would perhaps loose some money... it's better to sell their soul... if they ever did have one...

They better watch what they sign with AInc. They will probably get sued a few years down the road.

Still have to boot a PC to use the product! All I have to say is WEAK...

If I want to play those old games, I can always run them on a real Amiga and I don't have to worry which version of Vista or XP or 32 bit or 64 bit. Is that really the best they could come up with. Here we go again with another Windows product. I guess they want us to all sell our Amigas and buy into Windows.
