Amiga inc must have bought the tao group instead of squandering the money putting its name on a stadium

@Fransexy
If you read the article it says:
Quote:
According to sources, the Reading-based firm's IP portfolio was sold in a private auction last week to venture capitalists Cross Atlantic Capital Partners.

Note, the name Amiga does not appear anywhere in the article...

I suspect they have missed the boat this time. It would have been a very good aquisition if they had though.

Regards
Darren

Oh CRUD.

Now Microsoft will be able to buy up intent, and All its associated patents Dirt Cheap, locking everyone else out of the cheap and simple distributed processing idea.

Goodby Linux and all other person based systems, its been nice knowing you. 8(

This also means, effectively, Microsoft own the rights to all posible variations of the codeing needed to create Machine and artificial inteligences, wether hardware or virtual based. 8(

Any quick & dirty definition of "in administration"? Is this the British equivalent of bankruptcy? Or is it something else?

How does this turn of events affect the Genesi thing?

Forget that, how does this affect the Amiga thing? It really explains why the sudden interest in OS4, they're left without a product.

not quite the same, but more or less (effectively means the same), as I understand it, the company is being winded down by outside administrators and assets sold off to cover all debts...

Indeed.

Perhaps the comments section on that "Reg" news post will say something along those lines?

So over a number of years they have had ports to different hardware and been trying to get the *complete* source so they can do something with it counts as "sudden interest"?

Are you talking about the years in which they were endorsing the development of OS 4 features, posting progress reports on their website, hosting technical articles by the Friedens also on the website, all the while claiming that they have nothing to do with the development or distribution of the OS? Because I am. They have had ports to different hardware? No, Hyperion had ports to different hardware, one of which endorsed by Amiga Inc. None of these ports were released because of the lack of license. While I think that it was extremely foolish on Hyperion's behalf to sign the bill of sale and accept the money while they were owed money and couldn't cover developers' fees, yes, it is "sudden interest", in that they suddenly changed their public stance and sued.

No change.

The people who bought TAO were already investors.

It's another shell game.

Cross Atlantic invest in TAO

Now all that's needed is a little bit of investigation to find the link between Cross Atlantic Partners and Amiga Inc. Just visited the site and I can't help but feel that Cross Atlantic Partners' site technically looks a lot like Amiga.com. I'll dive into this a bit more later, first I've other tasks to do.
