Qouting the author from pouet.net;

Have fun."

It reminds me the classic games way back to 1993-1995 like Flink and co. Want a CD32 version with CDDA audio and fmv anims in Chuck Rock 2 style :)

Can somebody please hit me with a clue stick about what I do in AmigaOS with the .exe file that the download produces?

It was a standard Lha archive when I downloaded it.

Yes, and when you unpack the .lha archive there is README.txt and SPB_PRV1.EXE.
So what did you do next?

It reminds me of one of the first Mario Bros on the C64.

Graphics and animation are nice also the joystick steering.
But there is no sound, no sound no fun.

Keep up the good work guys...

Open a CLI, and run it in the usual way.

I did have problems getting it to run on my normal WorkBench (under UAE), and had to boot with no SS to see it's screen.

It was however somewhat difficult to do very much as I lost 3 lives in quick succession because of the joypad not being set to analog mode so I couldn't move from the starting point before dying.

Also once all 3 lives were lost, it doesn't let you restart until you start player two as well, only the moment PL2 died the first time, it locked up. And then I couldn't reboot via a softreset (had to kill UAE completely - so I suspect a similar issue may also happen on a real Amiga)

That said, it looked a lot like Rodland to me in graphical style (which is not a bad thing). Very old school and cutesy

Open the icon information for SPB_PRV1.EXE and put tick in the executable protection bit, you can now run the game.

edit

@_Steve_

I had the same problem with EUAE on OS4. Maybe I'll try it on the A1200 later.

It seems you have to run the exe from shell - open shell, cd to the directory you have unpacked the exe and type:

run SPB_PRV1.EXE

That launches the game. Seem quite promising, thought I find the way enemies are disposed quite disturbing . I wonder what the goal of the level is?

Ah, the old CLI/Shell trick eh? Cunning!

Thanks guys. I'm using E-UAE on OS X and the executable doesn't run. is there a key combination to boot without startup-sequence as holding both mouse buttons doesn't work with my Apple Mighty Mouse (the most complicated, and worst mouse design I have ever seen!)

Got it - hold down 'help' key on Apple keyboard. The game does run now
