Software News   Software News : Lzip 1.5 for AmigaOS
posted by diegocr on 19-Apr-2009 23:22:11 (2636 reads)
Lzip is a lossless data compressor based on the LZMA algorithm, with very safe integrity checking and a user interface similar to the one of gzip or bzip2. Lzip decompresses almost as fast as gzip and compresses better than bzip2, which makes it well suited for software distribution and data archiving.

For more info and downloads, please go to Amiga.sf

On the archive you'll find binaries for OS4, AROS, and OS3 (020,040,060, and a ixemul version in case you want to launch it from bash scripts..). Remember that to preserve Amiga's file attributes you can always create uncompressed LHA archives (-z switch) and then pack it by using Lzip.

Yours, Amiga.sf Team.

Thanks for the nice words.

btw, i didn't included a MorphOS version just because of some trouble with the C++ cross-compiler... :-/
