software OS4   software OS4 : Ur-Quan Masters 0.7.0 on OS4Depot
   posted by salass00 on 26-Apr-2012 10:23:34 (2245 reads)
'The Ur-Quan Masters' is a volunteer project that intends to bring the classic game 'Star Control II' to modern systems. The program code that comprises 'The Ur-Quan Masters' was derived from code written by Toys for Bob, Inc. for the 3DO version of 'Star Control II', with their permission and encouragement.

Cool, played the game a little bit when it was first released. Quite enjoyed it but I'm not sure I'll have much time to try out this version.

This is an amazing game. I loved Star Control on my A500 as a kid and I have played all the way through Star Control II twice in the last few years. Rich story, great game play, unbeatable!

I loved Star control on my a500 too! Used to have friends over for great games.

I wonder if a classic 68k port is possible.

I'd really like to play this game with real amiga joysticks. Not crappy gamepads or pc joysticks.

Anyone get UQM working with a joystick or game pad?

@tekmage

I've played UQM with a Competition Pro USB joystick on AmigaOS 4.x before. Haven't tried it with the latest version but I would expect it to still work.

@realize

I'm not sure a classic Amiga will be fast enough but since the source code is available anyone who wants to try to port it is free to do so.
