software OS4   software OS4 : NetSurf 3.2 released
   posted by Chris_Y on 31-Aug-2014 8:23:10 (2772 reads)
NetSurf 3.2 is primarily a bug-fix release. In addition to fixes, a disc cache feature has been added, and a little work has been done to improve CSS3 support. Several of the front ends have received quite a bit of attention, with new features and improvements; notably the GTK, AmigaOS and Framebuffer front ends. We recommend all users upgrade.

Welcome the update. Thanks.

BTW is there any chance the search engine could be localised? It gets annoying searching for something in Australia and getting results from the UK everytime. Woud be good to edit the search URL. I didn't see an option for this.

@Hypex

Have a look at Resources/SearchEngines - all the search URLs are set in that file.
It's better to create a copy of it and put it in Users/Default/SearchEngines (or is it SearchEngines.user?), any entries in that file get appended to the one in Resources and it won't get overwritten on updates.

@Chris_Y

Thanks for the tip. Guess I'm used to a GUI. Some how it knows my name so I have a Users/Damien/ I put it into.

But after testing it made no diference to the welcome screen search. I changed the references I could see to www.google.com.au but it still opened up www.google.co.uk in the browser. After hunting around more it turns out to be embedded into the HTML and for English will always use UK.

It worked in the toolbar search gadget.

@Hypex

Ah, I thought you meant the toolbar. Easiest fix then is to set your homepage to www.google.com.au
